Re: Zebra LP 2844 printer will not print anything but the...
Possibly not a real LP2844 but an LP2543, a printer mass produced for and used by UPS. refurbishers change the label and sell as LP2844 because they are almost identical.
if it has an AC-AC adapter, it is an LP2543. LP2844 uses a AC-DC adapter, and all LP2844's have USB ports.

If your Zebra LP 2844 printer is experiencing shifting or off-center printing, there are a few possible causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check print settings: Ensure that the print settings on your computer or label design software are correctly configured for the label size and layout you are using. Make sure the label dimensions and print margins are set accurately.
Calibrate the printer: Perform a calibration on the printer to ensure it is properly aligned. To calibrate the Zebra LP 2844, follow these steps:
a. Turn off the printer. b. Hold down the feed button. c. While holding the feed button, turn on the printer. d. Release the feed button once the green status light begins to flash. e. The printer will feed labels and automatically adjust the label alignment. f. Once the printer stops feeding labels, the calibration is complete.
Adjust label position sensors: The LP 2844 has label position sensors that detect the start of each label. If these sensors are misaligned or dirty, it can cause shifting or off-center printing. Clean the sensors using a lint-free cloth and ensure they are properly aligned.
Check label alignment: Ensure that the labels are loaded correctly and aligned properly in the printer. Make sure they are inserted straight and centered in the label guides.
Inspect the print head: Check the print head for any debris, adhesive residue, or damage. Clean the print head with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab if necessary. A dirty or damaged print head can affect print quality and alignment.
Update or reinstall printer drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. If the drivers are outdated or corrupted, it can cause printing issues. Visit the Zebra website and download the appropriate drivers for your LP 2844 model.
Test with different labels or ribbons: If the problem persists, try using different labels or ribbons. Sometimes, the issue could be related to the specific media being used.
try to reset to favtory default and do a test print, download if needed other driver (www.seagullscientific.com.) reset to factory default with this driver and try a test page. Hope it helps. Paulo.
Actually your printer is printing in Machine language, Please make sure that you have installed the printer drivers into your system, if not please install the printer driver first and then try to print, it will definitely print the test page and other prints as well, please let me know it works or not OR What problem you have faced after that, so i can send you more details about that
1 Check that your label size definition is correct, measure your label height in mm and check that your printer driver settings match.
2 Perform a calibration. How?? when printer is on labels loaded and green light, hold feed key and wait for 2 blinks then release feed key. (If you release it after 1 flash you will print a configuration label)
3 If you are using Zebra Designer, download latest version of Zdesigner V2. Install latest printer driver V2.63. This driver & Zdesigner allows you to calibrate the printer directly from within Zdesigner. Go to File/Printer settings/ advanced options and click calibrate at bottom of page. when printer calibrates then tick the box USE PRINTER SETTINGS and printer will now work properly.
Try this START SETTINGS PRINTER/FAXES in the pop up window go to FILE/SERVER PROPERTIES DRIVERS SELECT THE MFC5440 DRIVER AND REMOVE SELEST THE LP 2844 DRIVER AND REMOVE Now go to www.seagullscientific.com and download the Zebra driver pack, once downloaded run it and install the Zebra Lp2844 to with the USb port.
This should solve the problem, if not please come back.
First thing you need to check power is coming to printer or not.
If power is coming check printer is feeding properly or not when you press feed button it should feed one blank label.
If it does not feed label then calibrate printer from driver or press feed button and switch on printer hold feed button for 2-3 seconds and leave it .It will calibrate and print test page.
Add the printer as a Local LPT1. Then go into the properties and switch the port to a USB port. Try a test label. If it doesn't print, go back to properties of the printer and switch it to another USB until it does. If all else fails there is a remove utility included with the Zebra drivers you downloaded. You can remove all zebra related drivers and printers and then reboot. The PC should redetect the printer when you turn it on.
My printer will not even print a test page with out coming up with an error
