Question about Mitsubishi VS-60601 60" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Mitsubishi ws-65819 I have a 7 year old Mits that is having the bowtie problem. I was told this was probably convergence IC's and was quoted between $250-400 to fix it. I saw a previous post about replacing them with STK-392-110's which sell for $13 a piece. Is this the correct IC part number for my TV and is this something a novice can do? I'd rather get a new TV if the repair is close to $400 bucks. Thanks for your help!

HI I change both the STK392-570 that you
talked about if your haveing a convergence problem and it got worse do

chips they are aftermarket I now cannot move the red or the blue from
side to side and at the bottom of the screen the pic is in a frown the
cross hairs are lined up for the blue and the red but on the next
alligenment menu its way off on the right side and way off on the left
and I cant move anything before I change the chips I could tap on them
and it would almost stragten up do you think should I order new chips

Have a Mitsubishi WS-65819 (about 9 yrs). over past 3-4 weeks the color started to skew (3D like arch on top and bottom), then yesterday, the TV totally powered down and will not power up, totally dead. ...

You lost your convergence IC's and possibly a resister or two that are in the same circuit. If you are good at Soldering, this should be somewhat of an easy fix. I believe you can still get the IC's for this set.

Screen is arching at bottom of screen. only does when you first turn it on after 10 0r 15 minutes it fixes itself

This is the begining of a convergence problem and the O/p IC' will probably need replacing.
Try adjusting the convergence. If it won't move see below- (or hitting Magic Focus for some Hitachi’s)

Convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

Mod. WS-655111 Fuse F9A04 & 05 bad. Set goes on & right off

You can order a replacement STK393-110 for this model (62HM95) from a major parts distributor at the link below:

Mitsubishi WS-65511 Replacement Part Convergence IC STK393-110

You would probably have to recalibrate the convergence after you install the IC. There may be a convergence kit available as well.

Intermittent convergence issue became permanent

Hi Ed,

Your convergence amplifiers are definitely bad. The user manual will not work, since it is the same manual that comes with the set when it was new. The service manual can be found at:

Arched or bowtie effect

You have bad convergence Ics they are mitsubishi part # 267P150010 Generic part is STK 392-570 and they are at locations Ic8c01 and Ic8co2 on the deflection board. If you can solder you can take these out replace them and fix your problem for about 100 dollars. Best of luck

Mitsubishi WS-65819 got Fried by a mouse

Just replacing the board if its the main board is half of the repair. The memory IC which is usually located on the main board holds all the data for convergence, picture geometry, channel memory, color settings etc..So getting it to run is only half of the battle. Got to and look for the main board. I couldn't however look it up because it says your model number is invalid.
