HI All,
Suddenly our washer/dryer is churning out gray clothes, which is ruining everything. I've checked other solutions and people seem to suggest hard water, but this is not a gradual thing -- its suddenly started doing it severely.

- I actually discovered the problem on this...a pen had gone through the dryer in my pocket (wife neglected to tell me she found it) and it left a film all over the dryer barrel. it was some sort of "gel" ink pen and it wasn't obvious, but made everything come out gray.I cleaned the barrel for probably a half hour with a citrus solvent and still could not get it all out. We put some old towels in, ran it again, and still more residue is coming out and smudging around.
We may end up buying a new dryer. :(

- I had the same problem, it turned out to be lint that had accumulated over time the drum was removed cleaned and put back over time it happened again.- Guest
