You may need a shop manual to get the wiring diagrams. You may be able to register on some of the auto parts stores websites and get them for free. You'll need the diagrams to trace the wiring. If it is in the circuit board inside the cluster it will have to be sent to a repair shop.

ok there is one thing that will explain all of your problems ,, Its a simple problem but extremely hard to pin point.. Its an eletrical short thats messing everything up..
do you have experience in auto electrical ?? If noti would suggest you have it towed to a shop.. DO NOT START OR RUN THE VEHICLE as you run the risk of causing a fire, Leave the batery OUT.
to start diagnostics you firs start at the main control box (where all the fuses are as that is where all these problems will most likely come from) and you verify if its good or not and replace or repair where necessary. Then all harnesses must be inspected and replaced where necessary. Lastly you check the alternator battery connects to verify its good.
Hi, I just went through this in a 96 grand caravan, make sure that there is no corrosion on the battery terminals, causes problems with the BCM. Also in the under hood fuse pannel there is a fuse for the IDO, pull the fuse for a couple of minutes then replace. this causes the BCM to reset. Ive also heard that if you have this problem and have the rear winshield wiper fuse blowing out you have a short in the rear wiring, find the short and repair it and you solve the problem, CRAZY hua? Good luck. the first two solutions worked for me.
I have the same problem with my jeep, i was told that the sensor in the fuel tank should be checked, so far i have just gotten use to using my spedometer gage, i have calculated that i can go 400k on a full tank of gas(20 gallon tank), so everytime i fuel up i push the button so it goes back to zero and just watch how many klicks i go , This will help you till you get your fuel gage or sensor fixed
That may be a sign of a bad alternator. start you car and take the positive batter cable off the battery. If the car dies replace the alternator. That is a really good sign that your alternator is bad.
