Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX50 Digital Camera

1 Answer

When using the zoom button the cam stops working

I bought the Lumix DMC-FX50 2 weeks ago and it was functioning properly till yesterday, now the problem is that every time I try to zoom in or out the cam stops working and the LCD screen becomes black with a message displayed on it says "PLEASE TURN CAMERA OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN" so I turned it off and on many times and I removed the battery for more than 4 hrs but the problem still persists. Please note that when I use the same zooming button to enlarge the saved pictures and it is working, but if I use it to zoom before taking the shot the whole cam freez. Now I'm taking pictures without zooming otherwise it will stop. Can anyone help solve this problem?

Re: When using the zoom button the cam stops working

This suggests the zoom motor has failed. As you only purchased it 2 weeks ago - it should be replaced under warranty

Why does my Panasonic DMCFZ28 take pictures when I push the zoom lever?

I suspect the snap key is shot circuited, use contact cleaner spray in the click button often press it to get ride of possible carbon shot circuit between the switch. in some cases the processor will malfunction, and if moisture or water particles gone inside, you must open the cam and clean the motherboard thoroughly with PCB cleaning agent.

For years I have a Lumix FZ30 working perfectly. Suddenly since yesterday, when I shift the start button from "off" to "on" the Camera does not react at all. Batteries OK, no previous problems! Any idea?

YOur power botton may short from inside. Can you remove your battery and clean the place properly and try, may be the reason of sulfer also. if not then visit service center.

Thanks, i am waiting for your feed back & if you satisfied then thumps me please.

Auto zooming on power up, intermittent problem

Possibly a intermittent connection in the control buttons or the ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) connector from the controls to the main PCB.
Take it in for servicing, they will do a trial by substitution (swap out control) and lubricate the connector.
There isn't really anything you can do to fix with this sort of problem.

Panasonic lumix dmc-fx01 won't focus

See the post for the same camera: "Buttons stopped working": there is a small 2 position switch connected to the zoom button. In my camera the zoom switch was stuck in one of the extreme positions. You have to put it back in the middle an re-assemble.

Lumix FX9

Fed up with the zero response from Lumix, Panasonic and Matsushita I came up with my own solution.......I bought a Canon Digital as replacement. 9 Mega Pixels, 4 times digital zoom and 20% approx. of the price I paid for the heap - of - **** Lumix.
Bye- bye Lumix, Pana and wont be seeing me as a customer again.

Lumix DMC FX8 lens cap opens intermitently, some images shoot rotated 180 degrees

hi, i've an fx8. i had a problem 2 weeks ago. my objective didn't want to close when i switched the camera off. it remained open. when i switched the camera on again, the objetcive has closed and opened again, and the _Turn Off the Camera and Turn On again_ message appeared on the sisplay. and remained in open position after switching it off. i tried some button combination, like menu button on, and power the camera on. it didn't work, but the second was the shotting button on, power on combination. an it worked, my camera did some kind of reset. it returned to the original position, and everithing is working since then.
