Re: v3x data cables
Yes you indeed do need a "Special cable" you can buy a "Set" Cable & CD to install the software to use on the phone... Ya do also have infrared transfer but thats so slow... Ebay or ya local Phone Shop would be ya best bet, get a cable, mine cost like NZ$10.00 (US$7.00) when I bought my "Set".

hi friend here are several ways to transfer mobile phone
photos onto your PC, ranging from, emailing them using GPRS, Bluetooth
file transfers, Infrared file transfer, using MMS service, using a card
reader or simply using a data cable. VideoJug themselves even have a
film on the subject, but this guide will address transferring
photographs to your PC using the manufacturer supplied data-cable and
Step 1: Check To See If You Have The data Cable And SoftwareMost
mobile phones nowadays come standard with a USB data transfer cable and
bundled software utility. Check the box that your mobile phone came
with for the cable and CD-Rom. If not provided with the software, it
may be available as a free download from the manufacturer’s website. If
your phone did not come with a data cable, check the manual if your
model supports data cable transfers.
Step 2: Install The Communication SoftwareOnce
you have located your software CD, check the system requirements
necessary to run the software such as hardware specifications,
operating systems supported etc. Install the software following
on-screen instructions, but do not plug in the USB data cable or phone
in just yet, unless the software requests you to do so during the
Step 3: Connect Your Mobile Phone To The PC Using The Data CableOnce
the installation is complete, the software would usually require a
reboot of the PC before plugging in the mobile phone for the first
time. Then connect your mobile phone to the data, and the cable to the
USB port of your PC. Several phones may display a message on the mobile
display that the phone is now connected to the PC, but if not don’t
worry just yet!
never to unplug or disconnect the data cable from the phone during a
data transfer or you could end up damaging your phone or loosing all
Step 4: Start Up The Software Package And Locate The Image Or File Transfer UtilityOnce
connected, start up your mobile phone’s software, and browse through
the interface. Most manufacturers offer some form of phone browser
where you can browse through the content on your phone, copying files
onto, or taking files off the mobile. The software utility may also
offer a separate tool for transferring photos and video shot with your
mobile, if this is the case use the utility!
Step 5: Transfer Mobile Phone Photos Onto Your PCUse
the software’s browser or photo utility to transfer your photographs to
your PC. Some software tools provide image editing tools as well that
will enable cropping, rotation, and sharpening of images once
transferred to you PC. Don’t be afraid of referring to the software’s
help file incase you get stuck.
phone models and manufacturers vary, it is always a good practice to
read through the mobile phone user manual and the software's help or
readme file while using this guide. It is also always good practice to
use the backup function of the software first to ensure you can restore
your phone back to its original state should anything happen to it.
no need of installer !!!! do as follows
1. connect the data cable to your mobile
2.connect the other end of the data cable to your system
3.go to SETTING > CONNECTION > USB > FILE
4. now ur mobile acts like a pen drive u can transfer files !!!!!!!!
I can get pictures off of the original phone. but not messages. I know how to transfer photos to the new phone, but you have to text message them to yourself. obviously, unless you have unlimited pix and data, this will cost you alot on your next bill.
to transfer pictures off of the original phone: purchase Datapilot install it hook your phone to your computer with a USB cable (doesn't have to be a susteen, datapilot, or verizon cable, this can be any cable. transfer your photos.
is that a razr v3 not v3x??well all you have to do is download the motorola drivers and p2ktools, p2k manager or skiman. connect your v3 via cable, install the drivers correctly and then the computer will detect your phone as p2k, if not, open one of the applications that you have downloaded and that should do the work.. then the application will read to your phone files and you can now transfer files from pc to phone and from phone to pc! you can also read the instructions on www.modmymoto.com! thanks and goodluck..
There are 3 things you need to do. (1st) you need to download Pantech PC Suite from http://pantechusa.com/support/ease - Save PC Suite to Program Files on your computer. You need this software before you will be able to connect with your phone. (2nd) after you download this software you need to go to and open the Program Files folder on your computer. Then open the Pantech folder. Next open the Pantech PC Suite folder. Now open the P2020 folder. Finally open the USBDriver folder. This folder should contain something that looks like PTQH_V1_1_4583_1215_SETUP - Click on it and install it on your computer. This is a special driver that is required for your computer to be able to communicate with your phone. (3rd) you need to a USB data cord (this is different for a charge cord). I purchased a data/charger cord for mine. It is able to charge or transfer data/charge at the same time. It is as simple as that :C Note: After you install and run Pantech PC Suite the program will give you the option of connecting to your phone with Bluetooth. However, if you don't know it already - anytime you use Bluetooth on the Pantech Ease it will really drain you phone battery and battery life on this phone is not very good to begin with. Hope this helps
