Exact same problem. My son had his Gigabeat in his pocket when leaving school and when he got into the car the outer glass cracked as well as the LCD display itself. Any help in finding one would be appreciated....or even a repair center since Toshiba completed dropped this great product from a support standpoint.

I didn't even sit on it or directly impact it.. the LCD just cracked and dumped its liquid... i think they need to shield it better in the next releases because i have been very careful yet it cracked.

And the biggest problem is that i can't find a replacement.. i think i will have to go with any compatible LCD if there is any.

Find a cheap, used or defective gigabeat posted on ebay, buy it, and take out the LCD and replace your broken one

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Toshiba sat R35 S159 series If I Replace my existing 60gb Internal hard drive to say 350gb what type and model do I need to obtain also are there any changes I need to make to settings or jumpers in t

I think beyond Windows XP there is no difficulty just using a larger drive, there is no real limit to the size of drive the operating system can handle.

Since the old one and new one are master HDD probably no need to do anything with jumpers.

One easy possibility is to create a partition on the new drive exactly matching your existing drive, a clone of the existing one, and have all the new space as a separate logical drive (it would probably be the D: drive). There are lots of other possibilities. I don't think that anything in the Windows operating system will let you copy a whole partition onto the new drive, you'll have to use some other free software, have the new drive as an external drive, and use the software to put two partitions, one a clone of your whole 60GB drive and a new one.

But anyway if you don't want to be that much in control, Windows has its own software for migrating to a new drive (which I've never used).

My gigabeat (portable media center) device has wiped everything on it, what can i do to recover all my photos?

Connect your MP3 Player into computer.Download a data recovery software to recover your photos. For data recovery program,I have used Tenorshare Data Recovery. It can recover data after deeply scanning your media player to look for lost data you accidentally deleted or formatted. By the way,you can download it and scan your MP3 player for free to preview whether your photos can be recovered.Get it from http://www.any-data-recovery.com/product/datarecoverystandard.htm

I have a 94 accord v tec 2.2. rear balance shaft timing jumped w

if it sat outside i can see something within the drive train of your timing belt could have rusted and seized. Could be that it was so seized up that when you cranked it instead of what ever was seized giving the belt did and jumped a few teeth. But your guess is as good as mine unless it was messed up when you parked it and you never knew.

Gigabeat S Series firmware restore

I just solved the same problem yesterday. When you download the firmware, save it to yur desktop and burn a CD because the gigabeat won't get it unless there is an actual CD in the rom.

Now, connect the gigabeat to the computer and let the firmware install. The unit will automatically restart twice. Here's the tricky part. You have to hold down the start button on the device until you see the start screen. (It took awhile for me to figure that out!)

After I saw the start screen, I saw that all my files were there! YAY

Gigabeat frozen!

Hi Lorna, Yeah I found my Gigabeat froze a few different times when I was getting used to it. Solution: at the bottom of player there is a little battery on/off switch - its tiny and black but you would have needed to switch it on to first use it. Well turn it off here for 10 seconds and the on again. This removes all power from the hard drive and circuits which occassionally freeze. Hope that helps

Gigabeat 40GB screen frozen

well, it would be really easy to take off the battery. The battery is simply plugued with a little 3-pin wire, u just pull on it and put it back in. Now to open that gigabeat, its pretty easy. I even got some images for u. Go at this website (its for the F10 and u have the F40, but its the same thing): http://www.angelfire.com/bug2/gigabeat/
