its a camera and as with all cameras we assume you have followed the rules. the rules are with the camera off, plug in the cable to both devices. then with the pc on already, then switch on the camera. if that is what you are doing then it should work ok. if it does not then it implies the usb port you are plugging it into has some old style Sniffer program looking for a different sort of usb device that will only work when plugged into that particular socket, thus preventing anything else from working properly in that socket. turn the camera off and try plugging it in to a different USB socket.
It sounds like a cable has been disconnected or a chip loosened after the drop. I would send the camera back to the store you bought it from or contact the manufacture to have it replaced. Sometimes its as easy as getting a new one or repaired for a small fee. Good Luck!
TO CHANGE THE PTP MODE OFF IN SAMSUNG ST150 1) Turn the camera off 2) Hold the zoom out (-), flash button( PHOTO TAKING) and the Menu button. 3) While holding, turn the camera on. 4) When the camera turns on, it will show a text screen 5) You can let go of the zoom out and the Menu button 6) Press the Menu button 7) Press left. This will turn PTP Mode off 8) Turn the camera off and on, and you're good to go
