Samsung side by side center divider front extremely hot
I have a samsung side by side rs2630sh. I have notice the last few months the center divider of the freezer fridge has been getting increasingly hot and the freezer and fridge have been getting warmer. The fridge was making a sound like a baseball card in spokes of bike wheel, but has stoped i'm not sure that's good or not. Any help that I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thank you sleepyxi.

That sounds like you may have something in your condenser fan motor.. piece of bag, paper and may have stopped your fan altogther.. that would be the first place to check.. right by your compressor in the back of frig.

When you were at the back behind the compressor did ya notice that the fan thier by the compressor was running, what will make that center divider bar very hot (it's normal to be warm) is due to the fan by the compressor not running or the coil also near the compressor being clogged with dust. So check that fan and replace if not running and also be sure to clean that coil free of all the dust ( the coil should be cleaned every 6 months as normal maintiance)
The fan you should replace is called the condenser fan. It's the one that blows air across the outside coils. When it fails, you'll usually notice abnormal heating of the front of the divider between freezer and fridge.
some heat is normal on the outsides and center divider. how to muche will usually mean the the condesor fan may have stopped working and is unable to cool the condensor coils and compressor.this could cause it to run longer and build up frost
Hi: Its just a coincidence you noticed it then. It is usually hot. It's the reverse side of the refrigerant (the hot side.) If you lived in a humid area the fridge would sweat. Water would run down between the doors. I live in a dry climate so no worries. Older fridges used an electric heating element to keep them dry. They also had an energy saver switch to turn it off. As Whirlpool uses the hot side of the refrigerant they don't use additional power to run the heater. Actually the heater is called a mullion heater. Nothing is wrong with your fridge. I'll look over my shoulder for angry retailers. Hope this helps, Jeff.
I had the same problem, and it was the condenser fan motor. I ordered mine from www.partstore.com. It was half the price of sears. I would suggest ordering the 2 "plastic bushings" for front and back of motor. I was able to reuse mine, but for a few dollars more it's worth it.
You have the fan problem. Full the refrigerator out and open the lower back cover you will see you fan is almost become bad. If you apply WD1040 oil you can use it about 3 more months. Then It will die out. I think you better change it now or later on you refrigerator become hot and hotter. If you are careless, you can get burn you skin. I had this problem. Frist, the fan made noise on and off. I applied oil into the motor. It was working about 3 months then I died out. The front end of refrigerator become a heater.
Go to online partstore.com and buy a fan with your fan model.
I'm not familiar with the Samsung refrigerators, but on most side-by-sides the evaporator (cooling) coils are located within the divider partition between the two sides.... along with the defroster 'heater' coils. During the defrost cycle, this panel may feel warm/hot to the touch. Are the freezer/refrigerator sections staying as cold as they should be otherwise? If they are also TOO WARM, then you may have a 'defrost cycle' relay or timer motor malfunctioning.
Had the same problem. I opened the "meat" lever controlling the "hole" between the freezer and fridge compartments (mine is next to the crisper trays at bottom) and put my finger in it to clear any blockage. It's been 24 hours and the center post is no longer hot. Think maybe I had a blockage or the hole was closed off and whatever is in that middle wall needs the cold air flow for cooling. If you discover some other remedy, please let me know.
