NEC Plasmasync 61mp1 - won't turn on

I have a 61 inch NEC Plasmasync 61mp1. I turned it off and now, all of a sudden, it will not turn on. The indicator light blinks red/green. Unplugged, hard switch power button don't fix the problem.

Its the power supply board. If you cant get the whole board, check your transistors theyre most likely FSXXX-X (part #). Replacing them should solve the problem. And they're only about a dollar each so youll save a bunch too but it requires a little more work.

Cannot get it to change input on NEC

You may have the child lock enabled on the front panel, visit the NEC website to download the owner's manual to your television, search the manual document for the text "child" and there should be a two button simultaneous depression to disable the child lock feature. Check eBay for a remote control if needed.

NEC plasmaSync 61mp1 problems

Here is the link for the user manual if you need it; http://www.necdisplay.com/Documents/UserManuals/PX-61XM1A_MAN_2ed.pdf Check page 54 of the manual (61 of the pdf) right at the bottom. The lights you have indicate that either the power supply citcuit, the screen, or one or more fans have been damaged. If you are sure all the fans work, then the power supply is the only repairable posssibility. replacing the screen is not worth it. The fact that the fuse blew but doesn't blow again makes me suspect one of the transformers or capacitors in the power supply has blown, causing the short that blew the fuse, but also then melted the short so it no longer blows the fuse. If you have a multimeter, and ideally an ESR meter, with a good photo of the power supply unit we can hopefully talk you through what to check - otherwise get a repair shop to look at the power supply. Hope this helps :)

Monitor displays half screen sometimes and goes back to full screen later. Some days you get the full screen but today it is half screen one time and then full screen another time. It finally quit...

The monitor have problem in vertical section of the board.Maybe the vertical output or any parts around the vertical ic is loose connection circuit, what we called, cold solder so its better to resolder the board at the vertical section.

61MP1 turns off after 5-10 minutes

Ryan

I have a 61MP1 that wont turn on. I get the green flashing light to signal power but nothing happens with the plasma. You seem to know a fair bit. A guy in UK said he'd supply a new power board for $500 but wants my old one in return. Sounds like it might be something I can fix here. Any suggestions. Barry

Problem with plasma tv

Something in the path to drive the other half of the screen has failed or is broken. Need some basic troubleshooting information in order to be any more specific, but I've seen this problem before with NEC plasmas. If still under warranty better use it Good luck
