Lens do not open
my casio EX-S600 camera lenses do not open when I turn the camera on. It makes clicking sound but do not open. I guess it's jammed. Any solutions?
I have a Nikon Coolpix S600 and I'm having the same problem. When I turn the camera on, the lens does not open. It makes a clicking sound as if it's trying to open, but then I get an error message that says "lens error". I don't know what to try. I don't want to damage the camera.
Drpped camera, get lens error, camera seemed to fix itself, then lens error reappeared.

try smacking the sides of camera.also try to make the lens up down with you hand couple of times.then check out.

reset all settings to factory defualts.
remove memory card and battery .
Also check lense mechanism working fine.

Its problem of lens mechanism and some gears are worn out in mechanism.
Complete lens assembly will be replaced in that case. Please contact Casio Customer Support for EX-S600 camera and Nikon Customer Support for Coolpix S600
Local camera repair shop can do the job too.
