My Philips DVDR75 is totally locked

It just has a red circular light around the record button. Won't open or power off. I have tried pressing power, stop and play at the same time. It doesn't work. Any suggestions

Can't record with dvd recorder from hd digital cable box

Hello, Ciprian -

Your television service provider (cable or satellite dish) provider may not allow DVRs which the company does not provide. We have AT&T Uverse as our cable TV provider and must use the DVR the company provides (and charges for.)

Have you checked the policies of your TV service provider regarding the use of DVRs not provided by the service company?

Philips DVD hard drive recorder HDRW720 locks up

Do you have a disc locked up inside?

I found that there IS a manual release for the disc tray UNDERNEATH the unit. It is a sort of toggle lever that you have to slide to the other side and that releases the disc. The Manual does not even mention this manual release lever!

Also, it may be hidden or covered by a paper like cover.

Philips dvdr 75

Hey there Dante471, you can roll back the driver to it's original setting before the update. Control panel / Administrative tools / computer management / device manager / your dvd drive / driver / roll back driver. I suggest you shut down all other applications, and follow procedure with a restart. If further details are required or you need elaboration on method, let me know. Good Luck!

Try a lens-cleaning DVD. If the problem persists, the internal drive will probably have to be replaced.

Blocked dvd tray

The disk inside is most likely jammed. It would be best to take it to a repairman, or you can try to remove it your self.
