We have an HP 4350dtn laserjet printer at work and we took it apart in order to locate a problem with printing. Now it is printing fine but every time it prints, it makes a loud noise. We are looking for a diagram to help us determine whether or not we re-assembled it correctly. Do you know where we could possibly find a diagram of the printer or what may be causing the noise?
You can go to www.printerworks.com and do a search for a 4200 model to get a diagram. I'm not sure what you were doing but make sure the fuser unit is seated in properly(two blue latches on fuser unit snaps right into the frame).

usely it's the fuser sleeve the problem. replace the fuser but before be shure the cartridge is ok. print something and open the cartridge door when printing to see under the cartridge the print quality if ok replace the fuser unit
Typically the only reason that a printer beeps when printing is because you have the printer plugged into a UPS. None of the circuit boards on the 4350 have any sort of audio capability. Plug the printer right into the wall outlet.
Does it occur on any print job or one in particular. If it happens with one job, that job has a problem. It isn't the printer. If it is all printing go the www.hp.com. then go to "support and drivers". Then select your printer, select your operating system, select firmware. Upgrade your firmware. Make sure that you read the instructions and DO NOT touch the printer while it is upgrading. If the firmware upgrade completes and the errors continue, you will need to replace the formatter.
These are all 64bit Vista drivers. Make sure to choose right one that your printer needs from first 3 choices. Ie.. Pcl5e, Pcl6 or Post Script. teflon coating on heat roller in fuser is coming apart. replace the fuser. also check to make sure the paper tray is set to the correct size. this means pull the tray out, remove all paper, look inside to make sure the arrow is pointing directly at the correct media size you are using i.e. letter or legal or whatever you are using. Good Luck! please rate this carefully.
Most likely the fuser has lost part of the teflon from the heat roller. Having said that, the first step in any print quality issues is to change the toner cartridge. good luck!
How much of the machine and what general area did you disassemble?
