Don't put the powder in the tray. Select you wash cycle, let the water run into the washing machine, then add the powder. The powder should dissolve before you put your clothes inside the machine. Let the washing machine fill up to almost half way and add clothes. This should stop the clothes from getting the residue powder on it.

Hi. I have a 2nd hand WD8016C LG but dont know which compartment is pre wash, wash + fabric softener. Also, bubbles form at the window and stay at the end Thankyou

First compartment on right side of drawer is prewash, next to it on the left is wash, second compartment on right is softener. Bubbles because you are using far too much detergent. Only use 2 tablespoons max for normal fairly large wash load, even less for smaller loads. Front loaders use little water, so need much less detergent. Also, highly suggest you not use softener, leaves residue in washer that soon turns to mildew and bad odors. Use white vinegar in its place. Helps remove detergent residue from clothes, keeps tub smelling good, and is very inexpensive. Liquid detergent is also an issue--it too leaves residue behind. Powdered detergent works much better and also is cheaper(counterintuitive you would think liquid dissolves better, but it doesn't).

Servis wp1249f2w leaving powder in the drawer each time, any solutions?

Stop using powder. Use liquid instead and see if that makes a difference.
First off. Before changing the detergent clean the residue of the powder from the tray.
Another thing to keep in mind is the type of detergent.
You want HE detergent. The reason for HE is it uses less and leaves nothing behind. ( HE stands for High Efficiency detergent.)
Hope this helped.

My GE washer is leaving a brown oily residue inside the drum after washes.

I amj thinking that you use soap powder in your washing machine. If that is the case what you are expericing is the accumulated powder residue under the agitator breaking away and marking the clothes. Re move the agitator and clead all the gunk out of the machine including a water recycling(saver ) hoses. Washing powder is 90% clay that is used to carry the active ingredaient and is never completely flushed in the rinse cycle. Ity also cause a deteriation of the hoses and pumpseal. When you have cleaned out the machine I recommend you only use liquid detergents as they are more effective and don't leave the residue.

Agitator can be removed easy,Take out the fabric dispenser cup,
Reach down inside the agitator & undo the wing nut, left to undo.
Take out agitator & clean & the bottom of the bowl,
For a more better clean fill machine with hot to high water level & leave soak over night,Do heavy duty wash in the morning to remove scrud.

I need to remove the soap dispenser to wash it. Soap from previous washes is gooey, leaving residue on clean clothes.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France.

Different washer dispensers are removed in different ways unfortunately and I do not know your particular machine!
However-
at the rear centre of some dispensers is a lip which requires pushing down as you pull it out (often on the conditioner tray if that is in the centre. On others there is a catch underneath. On yet others you have to lift the tray up at the last moment for it to come out!

When you do remove it, check the conditioner tray as being the culprit. You will probably need to separate a cover thing from it to expose the little pipe/tube down which the conditioner and water should siphon. It can become blocked by a mixture of powder and conditioner so easily!

It's worth checking fairly regularly.

Good luck,

Liquid or powder detergents?

6 of one 1/2 a dozen of the other.
Powder is best, for cleaning, but leaves residue.
Liquid leaves NO residue, but doesn't clean as well.
I find the best of BOTH worlds is to use the Tablets they seem just fine.
Another important thing is the finishing liquid, thats a must do.

My Hotpoint hvl211 has a lot of build up of 'residue' - basically gunk that gets stuck around the seal and between the seal and drum. It's really awkward to clean between washes but it I don't the residue...

The build up of residue as you refe to it, is due to doimn too many low temp washes.
you should do a boilok wash at least once a month, even if you do not put clothes in it, use the powder as normal with or with out clothes.
It is called a mintenance wash, and helps to stop buildup of grease and residue.

Where do i put washing powder in hotpoint aquarius 1000 three compartments in drawer what solutions go in what compartment

with experience, put powder in the first, softner in the middle second, pre wash in the third, but with that model i find its always best to use a liquid or gel direct into the machine, it makes the life of the machine last longer, also stops any build up residue
