My Helio Ocean has a nonresponsive keypad.
hi. my helio ocean won't respond at all. i need to reset it, but i can't get the keypad to work. i'm so frustrated. HELP!!

- this is such bull **** the same thing happened to me!! my screen just does not turn on. hell i cant even get it the phone to turn on! i think it was because i bought a car charger for an LG phone that fit mine and i used it. but im not sure. im freaking pissed off so i am switching carriers and turning my back on Helio for making such a shitty phone. and yes i called it a phone. - GuestApr 25, 2009

- My SECOND Helio Ocean decided to **** out on me. The screen won't turn on when I open it 90% of the time. The first phone I had lasted about seven months...I got them to send me a new one before the warranty expired. The keys stopped working and the only thing I could do was receive calls. Now all I can do with my second phone is get and receive calls, but without seeing anything on the screen. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a smart phone...Also, a word of advice. Go into a store and have the sales person call Helio. They wouldn't help me or even believe me that my phone was truly broken. The first time the sales person talked to a representative, the person said that it was MY fault for breaking the keyboard (really? Can you really text THAT much?) and the guy hung up and called back to talk to someone else who was actually helpful. I recieved the new phone about a week later but now this one is broken after only five months.
Moral of the story: DON'T BUY HELIO!

- mine is doing the exact same thing...i can recieve calls and text but it wont let me open them...first my phone started freezing then the top left button became super sensitive now all of a sudden none of the buttons on the first face works!! my key pad works but doesnt do me much good cuz i cant open anything up!!! i hate helio- kAAAteApr 21, 2008

My Ocean won't flow neither. It turns on just fine then hell breaks
loose and the signal is lost completely and buttons don't function
after about 17 secs. This screen blinks every 15-16 secs. (The time I
set for the Backlight....) And I love this phone so much I don't know
how to reset. And also holding the back button or talk button puts it
in "Emergency Mode" until this screen glitches and returns to the
wallpaper. Taking out battery WILL NOT work.

i just completely took apart my ocean and found out that the problem to this is the wire that connects the screen and top keypad was torn. it can be replaced if you buy a broken used ocean for about 30 bucks and just take the wire out of the broken one and put it in your phone. that is if you can figure out how to disassemle and reassemble your ocean. i did it, and it wasnt extremely hard, but it wasnt easy.
