SOURCE: I just bought this bike

This is tough to explain by email, however the key is turn ur bike upside down so you can spin the peddles and wheel, on both the front and back durailier sets are 2 grub screws that stop the chain going off the range at each side you should be able to see which on does what by changing the gear to get close to each and and look at the grub screw that is closest to the little pivot lever and when on the top/bottem gear, adjustso it is just touching it, do go too tight to move it or the bike may not engage the outer gears.

Please rank me if this has helped, thanks Andy

Bikes is bikes so ANY owers manual would ge tyou through the basics.

TRy Huffy's. http://www.huffy.com/Support/OwnersManuals.aspx

Then, using a search engine, ask any question like "how to shift a bicycle" and videos will appear instantly.

This doecument will teach you a whole bunch of stuff about techniques and strategy for road riding.

SOURCE: I was just given a

Just bought one too. I know it takes regular gas and you can start it with the kickstarter witthout battery. I had mine completely checked out by a local yamaha dealer who were willing to check it for me. They replaced the battery for me and it is running very well now. I had it inspected today, got the plate and is now officially "street legal"
Good Luck!

The down tube of the bike goes into the orange padded grips. The longer black hook goes around the seat tube.

Can you tell me what kind/size spokes to buy for rear wheel. thanks

I'm guessing you really don't know much about wheel building, truing and tensioning if you have to ask. And you don't have the tools either.

Any bike shop could assist you in determining and ordering the correct gauge and length of spokes you need. Or you could measure them yourself. I'm pretty sure the bike doesn't have boutique spokes on it.

I have a 1967 schwinn typhoon and problem is when i pedel the bike forward all the rear gear does is rotate, the wheel wont go with it and when i pedle in reverse it wont brake it just spins in reverse

Your rear hub needs to be rebuilt or buy a replacement hub or wheel. If you buy the replacement hub, you have to relace the spokes. I, myself, would opt to have a reliable shop to rebuild your wheel, find an older shop because they will know how to do it correctly.

Broken spokes on rear wheel

It is not that hard to replace a few broken shokes. All you have to do is take the rim off the bike and take the tire off of the rim. Install the new spokes and tighted them to the specs and put everything back on the bike and take it for a ride. After riding, I would check the spokes and retight to make sure there ready for your next ride.

650 V-Star Classic Bike goes into gear but won't move

Known issue with the 650 vstars...no recall from yamaha though. The drive shaft splines are **** and they shear off on the shaft and the side that goes in the gearbox. Gearbox (rear drive unit) = $825 Shaft = 160. Have to buy the gearbox as a whole because yamaha is greedy.

Bicycle Rear Wheel Problem

Tighten the two pinion gear bolts that are holding the rear wheel, if the wheel is wobbling, then that is the problem.

If this does not fix the problem, you will probably better buy a new wheel, or replace the whole pinion gear and axis assembly, better to replace the wheel.
