Re: viewfinder

Please check the rotary switch on the camera is in the correct position. The viewfinder and monitor settings are very close together! You can download the manual from the link below: Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!

Hi I have Nikon D80 with no manual, my problem is I cant switch on lcd to use instead of using eye piece when taking pictures

Your camera is a "Fixed eye-level pentaprism" it has no "Live View" so it can't switch from the viewfinder to the LCD screen. You have a real camera one that will offer far better pictures using the viewfinder then others using the LCD screen.

I'm going to give you a ling to a Google search for a PDF manual the two right on the top of the list are from Ken Rockwell who is in my opinion one of the best writers of manuals and how to

Take a look for yourself there is two guides there and you will see some really great information about your camera Ken Rockwell writes a review which is unbiased as he is an independent. Yes he's going to ask for a "Donation" some do but most don't. You have a great camera there don't be dissatisfied with it because it lacks some feature.

When I look through the eye hole of the Canon Rebel t1i, the view and numbers of the eye hole are blurry even though everything is auto focused, and when I take the picture, it's clear. Why is the eye hole...

There's a diopter adjustment knob just to the right of the viewfinder. Turn it while looking through the viewfinder at a blank wall until the numbers in the viewfinder appear sharp. This knob allows the camera to adjust for individual eyesight.

When turning pwer on the the shootingsettings

You get to the viewfinder by putting an eye to it. The Rebel XT works as SLRs have worked for half a century, showing you the image through the viewfinder. Only more recent dSLRs have a Live View capability, allowing you to use them as point&shoot cameras by viewing the image on an LCD.

LCD screen not on when camera on?

You hit the EVF/LCD button near the "eye hole". When this is pressed it will cycle viewing through either the optical viewfinder or the LCD screen. This display is controlled independantly on each of the modes: shooting, or viewing. This is so you can set the camera to view pics before taking them from the optical viewfinder and view pics once taken from the LCD or vice-versa.

Viewfinder is black

If you're asking about the electronic viewfinder (where you put your eye to the back of the camera), that can be turned on/off via the SEL button at the button right corner of the viewfinder. In fact, the LCD screen staying on/off is selected with the same button. Press it three times to cycle through the various modes of "viewing". If the viewfinder or LCD stays off after cycling through the SEL button selections, I would say your camera needs to be serviced at a repair shop.

I hope this helps!

I see nothing in the Viewfinder...

The camera has a mirror lock up feature for cleaning the CCD sensor. You may have engaged it. Check your manual about this function

Taking photos

You can only use the viewfinder. If you want to use the LCD, you need to buy an SLR with "live view." However, you'll soon get used to using the viewfinder, it's the best way to shoot unless you're holding the camera somewhere you can't get your eye to the viewfinder.

Different shutter speed on top lcd & viewfinder display

Even moving your eye away from the viewfinder can potentially change the amount of light entering the exposure meter, so even if the camera is on a tripod, if AE lock isn't on or manual mode selected, the exposure setting may change.
