Re: Stuck on parental control

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a manual available anywhere online. However, it turns out the unit was distributed by "GrandView Tech Electronics" who seem to support nothing but are a subsidiary of Shenzhen Soling, who have a website supporting most of their units; The apparently closest model they have online is the DVD-688; (Only if the Fixya picture is accurate.) If that is the right model or not, you need to contact them for a manual on the first link or use their online help, although I think direct contact would be more sucessful. Hope this helps, I will keep looking and maybe someone out there has a manual they will scan, but Soling are the primary manufacturers so they should be able to help. :)

The dvd player has a parental code locked in. Is

The default password is 0000 (four zeros)

Crutchfield has a scan of the manual online here, but it doesn't say anything about how to reset the system password. Hopefully the default one will work for you.

This is from the soundstorm website: If your DVD player shows a "Parental Code" on the screen. Here is the factory default code. It is 3308. Once you have this code, you can go into the settings and change the level to whichever level you like. Here is a break down of the levels: Level 1 = G Rated Level 3 = PG Rated Level 4 = PG 13 Rated Level 6 = PG-R Rated Level 7 = NC-17 Level 8 = Adult Level 0 = No Parental

Forgotten pass code for parental lock

Try 3308. That is what is shown in the oweners manual I received with my Qwestar 360MVP. If that doesn't work, go to DEFAULTS and select RESET. This should give you the factory initial settings then try 3308 again. Good luck!!
