E-mailing problems using easy share

Photos will not transmit using the e-mail portion of easy share. When placing a photo for e-mail, I do not receive anything when the "checking availability" box appears. I have checked the appropriate setting for e-mail but i get no response that the e-mail & photo were sent???

Re: e-mailing problems using easy share

Simply the best way is to upload the images to My documents/my pictures into a dedicated folder and work from your E-mail client. Software supplied with camera is notorious for unreliability My advice is always leave the disk in the box let Windows do the work

Trying to e-mail photos with the viewNX2

ViewNX2 is a photo managing program from Nikon. You can transfer pictures from your camera to a PC and then edit meta data from those pictures. Some easy editing things are included. More hefty stuff you can edit with capture NX or photoshop. The program can not be used to email photos. just use your own email account and mail the pictures you did place on the PC with ViewNX2.
Or if the pictures are to big (Gmail allows up to 25 Mbyte) you can use wetransfer or dropbox. (2Gbyte each)

Photos to big to import to some sites from my sony digital DSC-WX9 camera

You can use just about any photo editing program to reduce the resolution of the photos. For example, in Windows Photo Gallery select "E-mail" from the menu.
If you know you're not going to do anything but email the photos, you can reduce the resolution in the camera so as to create smaller photos in the first place using the Still Image Size command in the Shooting menu. However, if you happen to take a great photo you won't be able to make a good print of it because it's too small.

How do I send photos from my digital camera via email?

You can't directly send photos from the camera: you've to connect it to the PC and then with the software Easyshare you can send via e-mail; the button share is for tag photos to find them quickly when connected with the software.

How do I E-Mail Photos from my Olympus fe-290 on a dell laptop with winows vista. I do have the USB cord, thanks you

method 1 without photo management software:

To e-mail pictures from your camera with your laptop just hook up the camera to your laptop
and widows should come up with a menu asking you what you want to do with this device.
choose open folder to view files this should make the cameras media show up on the desktop.
You should also be able to see the media on the camera under my computer removable storage.
Or if it shows up here as a camera just right click and choose explore device. With most cameras
thier should be a folder called DCIM your pictures should be in this directory. Some cameras may
have subdirectories like video and thumnails in this directory also.

Once you've found the pictures, open you e-mail client or web mail and create a new e-mail. Open the attachment button. this should bring up a file manager that will allow you to find your pictures and select the ones you want to send. Some e-mail programs will have a white clipboard area beside the attachment button. If the e-mail client your using does, then you can just drag and drop
the pictures here to attach them to your e-mail

If your sending large picture files say 6.0mp and up then don't send more than one to 3 per e-mail
otherwise it can chog up your e-mail client for several minutes to hours.

If you want to send many pictures or video files to friends and family members you might consider
Dropbox. This is an online backup and storage program that will allow to share files online.

Method 2 with photo management:

Photo management software can take alot of the manual process of getting photos from your camera and storing them on your hard drive, fixing lighting, fixing red eye, fixing orientation,
tagging, organizing and other things you may want to do with your photos and automating the
process. Some of these have either the ability to create web albums or email pictures directly
from the photo management software. I personally like Picasa from Google

Easy share email will not connect to server

I wanted to use my ISP' email server, faster and no kodak advertising attached, here's what I did in version 7, now also version 8.
First click on "email" on the left side of the easyshare screen, then click on email settings at the top of the page and make sure that email with attachments is checked.

then go to the easyshare program folder normally at:
C:\Program Files\Kodak\Kodak EasyShare software\bin\ini\VistaEmail.ini

find the file ESAcct.ini and double click it.(you may want to make a copy of it somewhere just in case) in the file you will see:

enter your ISP's mail server address at the EMAIL entry and your email password if required by your ISP at the PW like so,

of course these entries have to be YOUR server and password not the examples above. save the ESAcct.ini file.

Now find and double click the VistaEmail.ini file, again you may want to save a copy of it also.
Find the line

and change it to your smtp server address, just like above,

save this file. If easyshare is open you may have to close it (shut down easy share) and re open it.

If you are connected to the internet you should now be sending your photos through your ISP's mail server. No more long delays and no more kodak advertisements with your emailed photos!
