ELECTRICITY PRESENTS BUT GENERATOR START IN AUTO MODE

Check the wiring from the utility through to the autostart control.; make sure all connections are solid and the wire itself is in good condition. New wire is no guarantee, several times I've had wire with a break somewhere in the reel. A non-contact voltage detector may helpful; start at the controller end, go to the other end of the wire, and see where you lose the voltage detect. It will detect voltage up to the break if you can keep the detector close enough to the wire.

You can changes to Auto mode.
Some generator has auto mode and manual mode. In generally, emergency generators have these two actions, when power grid is cut off, the generator will connect to machine automatically, then supply power to the machine.

There might be two reasons for the failure of generator auto start.

1. It is the ATS automatic conversion control device that does not issue the start generator command after the mains power failure or phase loss operation, or the self-starting relay failure, which causes the generator to not start itself. This situation is relatively rare.

2. It is the generator start battery failure, and this kind of situation is relatively more.

do you think that you might have installed the power source for the gas shut off solinoid incorrectly ???

You have a short in the remote start wiring, incorrect wiring terminations, or a defective control sensing in the transfer switch

Are you overiding the auto switch by putting it in remote position then closing the start contacts with 173 and 184 wires ?

U need to make sure that the relay driving ur auto start stay closed all thru the crank cycle.

Sounds like Generator mode switch should be "ON".

Check the oil pressure switch

This is really not an option. The engine would need a starter motor and battery and starting key switch. You will probably have to replace the unit with an electric start option.
