First thing is check the voltage between the black and red terminals at the back of the dryer. you should read 240v. then check the voltage between the balck and the white and the red and the white. there should be 120v at each. if all that is good remove the back of the dryer. make sure you unplug it first. then no the lower right you will see the heater. near the top of the heater you will see a red wire and a red/with a white stripe wire attached to the high limit cutout. remove one wier and check the switch for continuity. if you read nothing its bad and thats why there is o heat. Ifnit checks good replace the wire and then remove one red wire from the heater. then check the heater with your meter. most times on the whirlpool products its one of the two that is bad. check the two thing I described and if you still need help feel free to get back to me and we can go from there.Good luck

Check your voltage. if one of the phases dropped out you're running 110volt instead of 22volt. thats enough to run the motor but thats it.

GE dryer dwsr463eg7ww timer isn't working and doesnt heat up

The heating element assembly warms the air before the air enters the dryer drum. If the dryer won't stop, it may be because the heating element assembly isn't working - which greatly increases the drying time. Check the heating element for continuity. http://www.repairclinic.com/RepairHelp/How-To-Fix-A-Dryer/7-3-850356-/GE-Dryer-won-t-stop-DWSR463EG7WW

Timer won't advance on autosense, seems to work normally otherwise. timer advances fine on all other settings. was thinking it was the cycling thermostat, but the blower seems to be cycling. puzzled

when on auto the heat comes on and then shuts off and then the timer advances, when the heat comes back on the timer stops advancing, when on time dry the timer will advance no matter what's happening with the heat.next time send the brand name and model number so i can help you better,if it's gas you could have bad gas coils, you'll have heat for like the first 15 to 30 minutes then when the coils get hot they fail and no heat until they cool down, also if the vent line and the duct that the lint filter goes into hasn't been cleaned out the heat will shut down and if that happens the timer isn't gonna move.check that out and let me know what you find and send the brand and model number.

I have a Roper Dryer Model #REX3514PQ0 and it's about 5 or six years old. I was drying my laundry. The first load dryed fine. One the second load I notice that the setting nob up top was not moving and...

What I would do is pull the dryer out and unplug the power cord. I would remove the rear cover and check the components back there for continuity.f08dda1.jpg83a4f65.jpg15ccca9.jpgIf all of that is good then the timer or breaker might be bad. Why? The timer calls for heat through the RH leg. The amp draw from the heating element arcs up the contact point inside the timer. The motor runs on 120 volts the heater runs on 240 volts. So the breaker will take a beating on the heater side of it. The dryer will hower still run. To recap It could be the heater the limits the time or an electrical problem.6db32c2.jpga2de035.jpg

Dryer will not turn off is it the timer? the dial does not move

do you have heat?when the dryer heats up the timer doesn't move, when the heat shuts off the timer moves, when the heat comes back on the timer stops, the timer will not move if there's no heat.if you have heat it could be the timer.also run the dryer when it's cold for 15 to 30 minutes and check to see if the flame is still liting, there's a little cover on the front panel that you can pop off to see the flame, there's a set of gas coils on top of the gas valve that when they fail they will stop working when they heat up,when the coils cool down they will let the gas through and the flame will lite again, common problem with gas dryers and most likely your problem.also when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer, you need to blow out the vent line if it's a long run from the back of dryer to the outside i use a leaf blower to blow out the line, make sure the outside vent is clear so the air can blow through, next you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into and vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is,you should do this once a year moreso with gas so you don't have a fire, also your clothes will dry on time and you'll have less problems with the dryer.let me know what you find.

TEDX640PQ1 dryer, timer no longer times and heat does not come on. dryer will spin and blow cool air forever

HI. The timer is the principal initiator off all functions. If the timer module dose not time, or rotate properly, this will signal that the timer mechanism has failed. The timer will need to be replaced in this case. The motor is damaged.

Once the timer is replaced, the heat will return as well.

My gas whirlpool dryer won't heat. Cool air does

Hi

Things that could stop a gas dryer from heating:
- glow bar igniter, thermal fuse ( not all models ), coils on the gas valve, gas valve, thermostats, motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, sensor.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
