Saw in my local newspaper... Whirlpool won't tell you to maintain by unplugging the machine and removing the front bottom cover of washer (3 screws) ...you will see a valve cover in the center right in front of you....Get towels ready to soak up the water that will spill out when you open this. Remove it and clean the plastic filter and any debris you might see inside then put back together. It worked and wasn't hard to do but now I have other issues with the machine errors and such....I think I'll go back to the old washers minus the electronics.

Tighten belt on duet whirlpool front loading washer

There is no adjustment for the belt of WP front load. If you hear loud noise when the drum is spinning because the drum bearing was loosen. If you have insurance cover tell them to replace. Else, a cost of repair is expensive.

Code f 71

Check to see whether the laundry drum to the washer moves. If it does move, then the user interface needs replacing. If the drum is locked and will not move, you need to replace the central control unit on the washer.

My whirlpool duet makes an awful banging noise when a load of laundry is in the spin cycle. It is completely level and I cannot figure it out.

reach inside drum that turns and try to move it up and down. If there is any movement the spider at the rear of the drum is broken. Will need inner drum and outer rear tub with bearing and seal.

Stale odor within tub

Front loaders are known for building up mold and the smell.
It’s caused by using liquid detergent which is made from animal fat. Use powder. And use the minimum amount.
It’s caused by using fabric softener. Dilute it 50/50 with water.
It’s caused by the water remaining in the tub between washes. Leave the door open to allow it to dry. .
Pull the rubber door seal back and clean the mold off .
Affresh is recommended by some manufacturers. You run it through a wash cycle with it.

Whirlpool Duet washer...after problem with it getting out of balance due to not draining and trying to spin with a heavy load, I have since noticed if I place my hand inside the tub..it will spin freely...

Your original problem is likely to have damaged the bearings and the spin tub shaft... the shocks can fail, but that would not affect the fitment of the shaft and bearings.

My front loader washing machine is making a kind of squeaky noise when it spins. The washer is working..but wondering what it could be.

If the noise comes from the drum rather than the back of the machine it could be the drum bearings on their way out.
With the drum empty take hold of the top and bottom of the drum edge (from inside the drum). Gently try to lift and lower the drum, you may hear a slight knock - that's the bearings failing. Water enventually gets past the seal on the bearing and degergent in the water dissolves the grease in the bearing, causing it to fail.

Does a front load washer leave a little water in it? i can move the tumbler from front to back and i hear water splashing.

Unless you dump the drain hose into a bucket at the end of each cycle there will always be water inside the machine.

It lays in the trough that the heater element sits in
