Car shut down while while driving

I have a 1996 toyota corolla. I was drivng for about 15 to 20 minutes and then my car shut down. Everything shut off. ( Radio, lights, I couldn't accelerate and I couldn't even put my emergency light on) I've been having problems with my battery. The red cable is loose. When I try to start the car everything would shut off. And I already had the starter replaced. Usually when I tighten it, it starts fine for a while. The screw won't tightened anymore, so I don't know what to do with that, and Its never shut off on me while I'm driving so I don't know what the problem is. I know I need a tune up so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
