Re: pc problem

Continual restarts are either a corrupt driver, but its a process of illimination as to which one so start your pc in safe mode (F8 on boot up)and select start windows in safe mode; as this will only load the graphics in VGA mode and not the main driver and if it all works ok without the graphics driver, suspect the graphics driver and uninstal it and download a newer version. The other bios problem may be the fact that your cmos battery (CR2032 disc shaped on the motherboard) may need changing if all your settings are wrong (eg date and time are always wrong)and you have to keep pressing F1 to continue to load windows.

Please help me. I'm seeing a red and a green line on my sony vaio laptop screen. The red line was appearing from last one month. And the green one is appearing from yesterday. I want to remove those...

If this line is contineous then it would be a screen damage to your pc but if line doesn't appear all the time or screen flickers on a particular area of lcd or completely, it might be data cabel issue with it.

Sounds like you may have to change the boot up drive in your bios.
To enter you bios, you have hit Del or an F key as your computer begins to boot up (watch the screen, it should tell you).
Once you've entered your bios, you have to find where in the bios it allows you to set the order of boot devices. This is commonly under "Power Up" options or on the more recent BIOSes, it'll be under "Boot Devices." Once you're there, refer to the on screen instructions on how to change the order. The most common ways are using the page up/down keys, the +/- keys or the left and right arrows. Set your Seagate Barracuda to be the first place it boots from and you should be able to boot from it.

Most likely you have a virus or worm. Do you use any Virus program? Can you download the latest updates (virus information) for the program and scan the whole system. Eliminate all threads. If the issue persists, I'd try to boot from a CD, for example a Linux Live CD like Ubuntu and run memetest. If the system is still unstable, it should be hardware issues. My windows xp keep rebooting after shutdown

You should be able to change this setting in the PC bios menu. Windows XP should interact with this and change it automatically, but it occasionally doesn't. If you have trouble finding the appropriate menu and changing it, please post back with details of your PC (ideally motherboard make and model) and we can hopefully talk you through it. When the computer starts up, there should be a screen before the windows XP screen which says something like "press f8 to enter BIOS setup", but all machines are a little different. If you can get into the BIOS setup, only change things which you are sure you know what they will do, or you can cause all sorts of problems. Hope this helps, post back with system details if you need more :)
