How do I install INF

Inf's are installed manually via the device manager that you can open by right clicking on your computer and selecting manage. And from there on the left, click on device manager, then on the right select the device and update driver.

another way is to copy the inf file into windows\inf folder and have the computer update the driver on its own, (doesn't work unless the driver is newer)

Discribe the procedure of "chipset

First you need to download the latest version of the chipset software from Asus. Visit the following link and choose your operating system:
http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P4B266&p=1&s=15

Under the "BIOS" dropdown, you will find a download labeled:
"Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility V5.02.1003."

Click on the "Global" link to save the file to your computer.

After it is finished downloading, open the file you downloaded, inside there will be a folder named "inf". Go inside this folder and run the "infins_autol.exe" file by double clicking. From there you can follow the installation wizard.

Acer Extensa 5630EZ no Bluetooth device

Ansolutely! The slider is there on most of the models but when they are ordered it will depend on whether that addition was paid for before the module is added. If the advertisment you saw stated bluetooth and you think you should have bluetooth as pewr the advertisment I would be claiming misleading advertising. State that you wre lead to believ it had blootooth intsalled as it was ointed out at the time of sale.. Ne firm, they love to wiggle out of responisble sales and advertising. Maybe you misread the name? wasn't it SCAM?

The "inf" is the type of file a driver is. when you look for updated drivers in windows, it looks for the "inf" files to install.

I have Aspire 4730Z acer laptop. but can't install blue tooth. when going to install driver from utility CD showing no device found. let me clear how can I resolve the problem

Method 1: Rename the Bth.inf file loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround'); Rename the %WINDIR%\inf\Bth.inf file to Bth.bak before you install or reinstall the third-party device or stack. When you rename the file, you prevent Windows Plug and Play PNP from using that INF file to install the Bluetooth driver that is included with Windows XP SP2. To rename the file, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type %windir%\inf in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Right-click Bth.inf, and then click Rename.
  3. Rename Bth.inf to Bth.bak, and then press ENTER.
  4. Install the third-party Bluetooth driver.

Method 2: Update the Bluetooth driver in Device Manager loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround'); To replace the Windows XP SP2 installation of the Bluetooth stack, update the driver in Device Manager. When you do this, specify your third-party driver. To update the driver in Device Manager, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type devmgmt.msc in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Locate the device.
  3. Right-click the device, and then click Update Driver.
  4. Follow the steps that appear on the screen in the Hardware Update Wizard to specify your third-party driver for the Bluetooth device.

Service installation section in this INF is invalid

If the player is showing up in your Windows' Device Manager under "portable devices" with a yellow "!":

1.) Right-click the yellow "!" and choose "update driver".
2.) When given the option to connect to Windows Update, choose "no, not this time" and click next.
3.) Choose "Install from a specific location (advanced)" and click next.
4.) Choose "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" and click next.
5.) Click the "Have Disk" button. Browse to C:\Windows\inf and choose the file marked "wpdmtp.inf"

I can't believe the generic players have such crappy support when so many people have this problem! I think the Windows file problem might be caused by "compressing old files" when you do a disk cleanup.

USB2.0 to work

In the CMOS setup, on the Advanced tab, USB Configuration, enable "High-speed USB", according to this page. The instructions there may not be the same as yours, as Gigabyte may be using a different BIOS. On this page is the latest Intel INF Update Utility for your Intel 845 chipset.

It is also possible that your motherboard does not support USB 2.0. The manual I saw was suspiciously quiet about it.
