IT IS USUALLY THE "BELT TENSION ADJUSTABLE PULLEY". MOST ARE CHEAPLY MADE ... TRY A BIT OF AXLE GREESE ON IT ... IT IS SEALED FROM THE INNER DRUM AND IS MOUNTED USUALLY ON THE BOTTOM FRAME RAILING.

I Have A Neptune Dryer and this solution helped a little bit. I removed the door to my dryer and the front of the dryer opened up. What i saw was 8 years of lint. Next i started the dryer and checked the belt tensioner and found it was squeeking, in another fix suggestion it said to remove and grease the tensioner. this is a bad idea due to all the lint and dirt that is circulated in side the dryer. (No not in the Place where you dry your clean clothes). what happens when you put grease on the tensioner it will collect lint and dirt causing it to clogg up faster and wear out.30 Minutes later dryer dries and no squeeking. Hoooooray.
