Machine foot will not work

My machine foot will not work at all . The machine turns on but when you press the foot nothing happens. Anyone know where to get a foot for the 2040 that will not cost me an arm or leg. Thanks

I have the same problem. The foot control has been a bit iffy for a while now it's stopped working altogether. I sourced a new foot control but the price quoted is £96!!! I will try taking it apart and see what happens.

Same problem. The machine itself turns on, but the foot control doesn't do anything. Is it definitely the foot control or maybe something inside the machine wiring???

I took a foot control apart and couldn't put it back together again. Get a new one and save the trouble.

Have you taken the foot control apart yet? What have you got to lose. Possibly something came loose that you can put back in place? There are small carbon contacts that may be put back in place. Just remember to put it back togeather the same way you took it apart. Or keep an eye on eBay and ask questions. Mostlikely a generic footcontrol will work. Good luck. Rick

My Bernina 1300 MDC serger stopped sewing. The light comes on and the machine makes the start up noise but, when I press the foot pedal, nothing happens. The foot works with other machines.

check to see if any thread is jammed inside the right turning side wheel in the core area at times there can be thread that flies in there and may stop the main belt turning.

Foot control on my Juki 2010 sewing machine is not working, as if there's no power reaching it at all. There is power to my machine as indicated by light coming on when main power switch turned on.

Pam, Could be a bad/broken wire, may be repairable, you should take your pedal in to be tested, if diagnosed to be bad you may have to order a new replacement pedal. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Machine is behaving as if not getting any power, but light is on. Press foot pedal and absolutely nothing happens

There is probably a bad connection in your foot pedal. Try moving it around with your hands at the contact points while pressing to activate. If it goes when you are shifting its position then it needs to be fixed or replaced.

Foot pedal not working

Well, you are definitely getting power from the electric plug in.

Let's do some diagnostic work. Do you hear anything when you press the foot pedal? Any hum? Did you happen to leave it in bobbin winding mode?

your machine doesn't have a "sew" button for use without the pedal. So please rotate the hand wheel toward you as you press the pedal. Did the motor take over and sew?

If you know someone with a meter... have them test the pedal. (they will place probes on/in the part that plugs in which tests for shorts, etc.) If that tests ok... then we know it's something more than the pedal and it will need servicing by a Singer Tech.

Sewing machine does not sew. Finished sewing something, turned it off, then turned it on a few hours later and it will not work. Light is on but nothing happens when the foot pedal is pressed. Took apart...

Call Singer at 1-800-4singer and ask for their advice, you do not want to void your warranty with not going to an authorized repair service if it comes to that. Good luck
