Re: Beeps along

Hi, Past experiences with different models of Asus of this type of problem indicates BIOS problem. I have not come across the same symptoms with ECS, Intel, MSI, Gigabyte or others but once in a Samsung. The beeping sound is actually up down (like old ambulance siren). I have tried some correctives measures with varying results: 1. Clean the motherboard with a strong solvent, hot air dry with particular attention to the BIOS chip; 2. Resolder the bottom side of the motherboard particularly the chip holder of the BIOS; and/or 3. Flash the BIOS chip using an identical motherboard or an EPROM programmer. If all else fails, am afraid you have to replace your motherboard. Good luck and pls post back how things turn up or if you need further information. Kind regards.

I have mb-msi2000-815e pro ver1, it is constantly beeping. change the memories, agp,, but it still continues.what could be wrong/

1.Your first step is to look at the information about the meaning of the beeping codes. Beep codes are important and useful tools when troubleshooting booting issues. When you turn on your computer system, it is called POST (Power On Self Test).

2.No beep is usually a power problem that can be related to the power supply, motherboard or both. Always check your battery power before thinking there is a bigger problem.

3.One beep is a normal POST. That means everything is fine.

Two, Three, or Four short beeps are normally about the memory of the machine. If there is a problem with one of your memory chips you should get beeps of different combinations in this area. If you get two or three short beeps, one or both of your memory chips could be in trouble.

4.Five beeps point toward motherboard or CPU problems. Make sure your memory and video card are seated properly. Try removing them and putting them back in, only if you are comfortable with computers.

Six, seven and eight beeps.

Eight beeps indicate problems with your video card. Six or Seven are CPU, or a bad chip on the motherboard.

Nine beeps mean the BIOS is bad. Replace the motherboard.

Ten beeps means the problem is in the CMOS. All chips need to be replaced.

5.Eleven beeps are related in the cache of the mother board and this means that the motherboard needs replaced.

One long and three short beeps mean that it is related to a loose memory chip. Try reseating it.

One long and eight short beeps means that the video cards needs reseated.

6.I hope that this list of beep codes will help settle the panic you feel when your computer is sick. If all fails, Then you inform me

Cusl2-c motherboard problem, no clue what it is

can you give me the beeps explanation. All computers have a standard "beep code" this is a standard code to determine the problems in boot up. Long beeps, short beeps, intermittent beeps all mean something. Can you give me your best definition of the beep codes ? long, short, quick successive beeps etc also can you give the nake and model of the computer.

Not read actually

It is not about the motherboard. It is about windows. When setting up windows (New install), windows may not see all of your drive. That's OK. Once windows has finished installing & all your drivers have been installed, please update windows.

Once Windows SP1 & SP2 have been installed Windows will see all of your hard drive.
Windows 98 can see a max of 64GB & windows 98SE, 137GB. Win XP can see a max of 2 exobytes.

(What is 1exobyte? = EB. In decimal terms, an exabyte is a billion gigabytes).

It doesn't turn on.

Here is the manual for it Usually the light should stay on when its on and off when off, typically if it flashes, the powersupply itself is shutting off and coming back on. I would replace it first and go from there becaquse these LED's dont have a flash feature for this mobo.

CPU compatiblity

Hi amjo, When a PC runs into issues very early in the boot phase it will identify errors through a series of short and long beeps and are know as ?beep codes?. What you need to do is identify the pattern of sort and long beeps for us and we can start working on identifying what is wrong.
