Re: can't watch my burned dvd's on dvd player

You must get software that makes the DVD into a format compatible with ya DVD player. get software that will encode whatever ya have into the right format such as ConvertXtoDVD D/L link here. This proggy takes whatever Movie etc that ya have and converts it into a DVD Player format that can be used in PC & on DVD players..

How can i make my Lite-on-SOHR-5238s CD-RW burner read and burn stuff on a DVD+R/DVD-R? Cause when i put it in my computer doesnt recognize it.

Hi Justin If it's a CD-RW burner then you can't burn any DVDs in it. You need to get a DVD burner instead - they are very cheap now.

I have just bought an Asus SRD - 08d1 for my wife's laptop and have no idea how to use it. I presume it needs NERO to work

Depends what you want to do with it and what the OS is.

If Windows XP, you can burn to CD using OS but DVD needs Nero or similar to burn. Further, you will need DVD display software such as to watch DVDs.

I think Vista works native (untested) but Windows 7 has basic funtionality built right in.

My burner isn't burning DVDs properly!

Try a different brand of DVD and use a lens cleaner it just may need a clean up.
