Re: oven won't work

I would suggest unplugging the oven from the wall for a few minutes, then plugging it back in. If it still has a problem, you may need a new keypad, which can be had here: A bad keypad may be worn out due to age, damaged, or it may have gotten wet or otherwise contaminated. Moisture and contamination can be caused by not using the fan when boiling on the stove top (for over the range models), direct spraying of cleaners, by storing the microwave in an unheated garage or shed, or infestation. I warn my customers to never spray cleaner directly onto the microwave keypad, since the liquid can get inside and "lock up" or even ruin the keypad or controller. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: Post back here if you need more help. If you don't have the owner's manual, you can download it here:

The control panel no longer displays numbers

Hi,if the display is a bluish-green color when it working it is most likely a vacuum flourescent display it is a type of tube that has very fine filament wires in it heated by a low voltage supplied by the control circuit board if this voltage is missing the unit will function but you won't see any display at all sometimes the soldered connections to the tube will fail and depending what ones come loose you can lose parts of the display but if it is all out it could be the filament connections to the display tube these are usually a row of flat thin tabs that connect to the circuit board the filament connections are usually the first two on each end of the row.if they are ok then furthe troubleshooting will be needed to determine if any voltages are missing.M any repair shops just swap the bad control panal for a new one but that could get expensive.I try to service all circuit boards to the component level but sometimes you have enough problems its better to change it IF,big IF a new one is available. Good luck.

Our home lost power yesterday, now microwave will not work. Clock is working but it's like the panel is locked. Turned off breaker to try to reset and now on display it indicates 8-:44. Suggestions?

You should be sure that you leave the breaker off for about 15-30 seconds when doing a reset.

If it still won't work right, you either have a defective board or a shorting keypad.

Try the rest several times and note whether the display comes up that same way every time or what.

We can help you with a repair either way.

Details of our service are at our Web site, along with a video showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Feel free to contact me directly with your brand, full model number and symptoms.

The colon between the numbers on the clock, example 8:00 won't stop blinking even after I set the clock and hit the clock button again.

Sometimes the correct procedure for setting the clock is to press the CLOCK or TIME OF DAY button, then enter the time on the keyboard, then press the START button instead.

Otherwise, as long as you can enter a cooking time and your oven operates normally, then don't worry about it. On some models it is normal for the colon on the clock display to blink all the time.

Good luck.

Panasonic Microwave Convection Oven Model NN-8501Vstops after one min. of operation-Display goes to all

If you unplug the ac power cord , wait between 30 and 60 seconds and then replug the cord in, push the reset button and then select the time ot cook desired followed by the start button, it seems to work fine for a while (days) and then for some unknown reason it stops after one minute of operation and returns to all eights on the display. A real mystery as to why this is happening and what is really wromg with the unit.

Kenmore elite microwave oven displays "Locked" and will not respond

My Kenmore Elite microwave (don't have the model number in front of me) also mysteriously locked its own keypad (we were sitting in an adjacent room, heard a strange beep, and got up to find the LED reading "Locked."). I pressed and held down the Stop/Clear button for ~10 seconds and it returned to normal.

Plate won/t rotate no reheating

PLease open the housing of turn table motor at bottom of the oven and check for the AC input voltages on motor terminals as specified on sticker on motor. for no heating please check fuse between high voltage transformer and high voltage capacitor. Also check high voltage Diode and Magnetron. Please please don't try to measure voltage on terminals of magnetron.
