I had the same problem and my dryer was 2 1/2 years old. I also thought the problem was with the blower motor. However, the blower motor checked out fine. It turned out to be the Main Circuit Board. This is covered in the 5 year manufacturers warranty. If you don't go through GE warranty, it will cost you $170-$200 plus labor. Our technician said this is the third unit he has seen that this has happened to. If you do use GE Warranty it will cost you about the same as the are proud of their labor rates. Here is the part: Good luck and I hope this helps!

The blower motor is out. I have the same system and the same thing happened to me. The discouraging thing is that the unit is only 3 1/2 years old. The Motor will cost you $170-$250, (depending upon where you by it), and about $100 service charge. Try the store and ordering yourself. If you are handy, it is a very easy installation.

Tumble dryer isblowing cold air only?

Your dryer is called smart dryer and in this case should have to generate familiy code E60 (or any of exactly fault code E61,62,63,64,65,66,67) if blowing cold air, as you explain. Means something is wrong with heating phase (drying).
So, in this case could be: Heater unit faulty; Wiring faulty; NTC sensor faulty/out of position; Electronic board faulty;
Thermostat faulty; and finally fun motor - but considering that it blows cool air I guess that is correct.

The diagnostics say there is nothing wrong with my dryer but...

Michelle, So the drum turns but no venting out the back? This model has a DC motor for the vent, but if it failed, Im surprised that you did not receive an error message. Did you run the service mode? Power on, then press the home key, then help key. Then press the my cycles and back together for 3 seconds. Any error codes should now be displayed. The more icon will be displayed if there are more than 1 error. If you still are not getting an error you can ohm out the blower motor. There should be a 10 pin harness on the inverter board under the consol. The blower motor has the approx. resistance value of 14 ohms between yellow to yellow, red to red and blue to blue. The next step would to be to do some tests on the inverter board. Let me know if you are up to that. Catriver.

Please help...i have a brand new whirlpool dryer mod #wed9450wwh and it takes forever to dry a load of clothes...a small load or a large load. i have tried every setting and bought a new dryer...

Check the vent cap on the outside of your home to see what the air flow is like when the machine is on. It should be forceful enough to blow your haire back if you were to put your face in front of it. Make sure the vent hose behind the dryer is as short as possible and is not pinched or coiled. This definitely sounds like an air flow issue.

Kenmore 90 series electric dryer blowing cold air only

1st check the breakers
2nd check wiring in back to see connections are secure.
3rd check element. It would be burned in two.
4th check thermal overload switch which is located underneath top of dryer. Easy to remove top. Probably 4-6 screws.

Won't Dry

Try taking off the duct from the dryer, it has to be something blocking the air flow, check if the end of the dryer is trowing out air, if it is not, then you have to take it apart to see if there is an obstruction inside of it
