Hello. I wanted to ask you for help. I have router D-Link DI-604 and until yesterday everything worked fine - router was sharing internet connection for both of my computers. Yesterday when i turned on my first one PC, internet was working. But when i turned on second PC, connection was "limited or no connectivity". I've checked everything, and it seems that cable is fine. So maybe anyone could help my with solving that problem. One thing by the way. When i turn on my second PC, and try to repair connection (Windows XP), repairing stops at "Acquiring network address". I've checked it at cmd and found, that router generates me some IP which starts 164 (router's IP starts with 192, and my static IP starts with 213) and i never had it before. So i traced it and it was from america (i am from Europe). Maybe that could be a hint? Thanks for helping a lot
The IP address that you have is an automatic IP address the Windows generates. It basically means your computer is not getting an IP address from the router (DHCP). You should try powering everything off. Then, in this order, power on your modem, wait 30 seconds, then, power on your router, wait 30 seconds, then power on your computers...This should fix the problem since one computer is working already.
