sandisk recommends 3+ hours for the initial charge and then about 1.5 - 2 hours for after the battery is drained.
More information is needed to diagnose this problem.
but here is some info.
After 45 minutes on the phone with sandisk to get them to send a new battery, they ran me through these troubleshooting steps, hope they help. do one at a time and see if you get a result
-Reset device
take out battery
hold power button for 30 count
put battery back in
turn device on.
-Upgrade firmware
Go to website, download firmware update

let the device reboot.
-Format memory.
turn hold switch on, orange should be visible
hold pause/play button and press power.
click forward button when the screen comes up.
let this run.
after reboot flip the hold switch off.
then they put me on hold for 10 minutes...
