Question about Alcatel Speed Touch USB (3EC18607GA) Modem
Hi, I have been using an Alcatel Speed Touch USB modem for years now (the same one) I recently upgraded my service from 512k to 8meg (with Orange) Until a couple of weeks ago (for several months) I would connect at about 6meg and then all of a sudden (one Sunday) NO CONNECTION After a bit of trial and error I figured out that I can connect only on battery power not mains...BUT ONLY AT 2MEGS From this I presume (and stand to be educated) that the modem works but can't handle mains power. However, last night I omitted to use the surge protection and it connected on mains power, after a re-start. However, today I can only connect on battery power, as it won't connect with surge protection (again at 2meg) Any help would be gratefully appreciated The Orange help-line is useless.. Regards, Darren
This is only a suggestion you might want to replace the modem after all you have had a good use out of it I think its finally tiring out? REPLACE IT you'll have much more fun with a newer one not to mention YEARS of fun.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
