Does your PlayStation manual has any info on how to synchronize with your PC? If not open your network places, add the PlayStation details, which should be given in the manual, thentry synchronisation on auto mode. Most probably you will have to enable IEEEE802.PSupport in the network adapter properties window....sodeep

While setting up anew connection use auto detect settings or whatever settings you have been instructed to enter in the field:IP Address, which if it is a dynamic IP then set your PC to ***.***.***.2 an the default subnet mask and then the Gateway which has to be same for both. If you have been given DNS settings enter the same value in both but give your playstation IP as ***.***.***.3. Now restart your PC. Open network neighbourhood and check if your playstation appears if not add it, while connected to the internet. Also look up the user manual of the playstation too. Visit the playstation manufacturers website to check, it should be able to detect your playstation. Then share both and synchronize and enjoy......sodeep

Yes, you should just select DHCP from the network section. You might have selected STATIC by mistake. If you select DNS, then this should automatically add or your network information, including the DNS address. If not, try adding the IP address of your router, which is usually 192.168.1.1. or 192.168.0.1. Hope this helps . .

The WEP key is your SSID key. Basically, your wireless network has a security password to let you get on your network. If you don't know it or forgot it, then you need to go into your router setup by typing in the routers IP address (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) in a web browser such as Internet Explorer. Look for wireless settings tab and enter a WEP key and enter any WEB key you would like to use.

Yes, you need the code or you need to log into the D-Link router and re-configure it from a desktop/laptop computer. You also might need the password to get into the router. If you dont have that password, then you need to set the router to factory default by holding the little button on the back of it for 30 seconds. After that, the SSID might be D-Link and you should be able to connect to that with no WEP Key.

Cant get into the internet with my ps3. i get a dns code 80028E06

Hi p_dill
You would need to configure your DNS settings, Try using 208.67.222.222 as the primary DNS server and 208.67.220.220 as the Secondary DNS Server. You can also do this change in the router instead if you like. You may have to give the router and the PS3 a restart once you try this to get things working.
Here is a link that will assist you in configuring Internet settings in your PS3.

DNS error

you can get the dns setting by connecting a computor to the broadband the steps are
  1. goto 'start'
  2. goto 'run'
  3. type 'cmd.exe'
  4. in the commmand prompt type 'ipconfig' , it gives all the details about your broadband.
DNS error generaly means that there is nothing wrong with your system but ther must be a problem with your internet provider..

PS3 says DNS error (80710102) when i try to connect to the internet with a wired connection

try this
So what I found out was to put in the IP address you find in ipconfig/all but add one to the last octive. Example if yours is 172.16.1.25... then in your ps3 type in 172.16.1.26

Then I was using the primary and secondary DNS numbers that my computer was giving me in ipconfig/all. Do not use those. For your primary DNS number use the number for your default which should be a right below your subnet mask number. For the secondary DNS number just leave it blank. 0.0.0.0

Then you have to upgrade to version 1.50 (which just came out yesterday actually). Get a memory stick with at least 100mb space on it. Make a new folder that is names PS3. Inside that folder make another new one that is called UPDATE. Both must be in capitol letters. Then go to PlayStation.com - PLAYSTATION®3 - Network - updates and click on "download now"... Then click save and save it to your memory stick in the UPDATE file, which should be in your PS3 file.

Then after all is done... plug that into your ps3 in one of the USB ports for the controllers. In the main screen go to SETTINGS and then go to SYSTEM UPDATE. Go to UPDATE VIA STORAGE MEDIA. PS3 will search for your media stick and it should say on the screen The latest update data was found... Version 1.50. Click OK and follow the rest of the instructions. After it is completely done... go back to the internet connection setup and go through all the menus to make sure all your numbers are the same as I stated above. Then at the end run the connection test. It should work!
