Re: the dvd tray is jammed (due to child input)

If you can carefully take top off of unit you can possibly find out what is jamming tray. If removed may operate correctly.

It's not muted or on SAP correct? Try resetting it by unplugging it, depending on the type of the tv, this may take up to 8 hours to fully discharge and reset it. Please answer my questions so I can further provide information to help you fix this

I have an AKAI TV CT-2877A (M) and the "child

As long as you remember the "CODE" The child lock on a TV is a wonderful thing.

The lock sometimes causes unwanted trouble--if it gets accidentally turned on and you don't know the code, you can find yourself unable to fully enjoy the full range of available television stations. Please apply the following possible 5 different solutions taht verified by different users and than hopefully you'll be back to watching regular TV ....

  1. Bring Up TV Menu ; Power on the television with the activated child lock on. Push the "Menu" button on the remote control. A series of features appears on the screen, ranging from the overall TV functions to the video display and the audio setup features ,Choose "Options" and a new menu appears on the screen. From the new menu select "Child Lock." The exact setup selection is going to vary slightly, although the child protection is always referred to as either "Child Lock" or "V-Chip." The V-chip is the actual chip built into the television that blocks out certain television programming.
  2. Try a "factory reset" action... This should be somewhere in the TV menu system. However Please note that will clear everything, so you may need to re-program every things..the channels etc.
  3. Hold the lock key in the remote for few seconds . you will get the lock tool bar . you can unlock it there
  4. Hold the display button on the remote for 10 seconds.
  5. As a The last solution which is common for all TV sets..
    • Try to find the User manual for your television. The section In the manual about how to set the child lock feature will also explain how to unlock it.
    • Try a few "universal methods" for unlocking the child lock. Some televisions have a universal code built in for disabling the child lock --no matter what your code is. A commonly used code is "0000."
    • Unplug your television for at least 1 hour . The internal memory battery of the TV is what helps remember what your code. When TV is unplugged for an extended period of time, it clears the internal memory, which in turn will reset your child lock code back to "0000 " again...
if the problem still continues you have to email to :

Hope this helps!

When we try to copy from the hard drive of our Ferguson F10500PVR to our DVD, we get the picture but no sound. Please help. Do we need the TV switched on to do this?

This is guesswork but you are probably using the wrong encoding scheme. I'm assuming you're tyring to burn a DVD. Look in your DVD burner software for an option labelled VCD or NTSC VCD.

Went from audio and video to audio only

Actually, I don't think your problem is a matter of buttons pushed on a couple of remotes at all. I looked around the web and noted several instances that instructors may have confused readers, including those of the notably confusing user manual, as to how many of the multiple video inputs can be used simultaneously, and I believe you should choose the highest fidelity video input, whether optical or even composite, since your symptoms seem those of a situation where several video inputs
are superimposed one upon another, which is an absolute no-no, and can ruin your video amplifier.

Check for multiple video input hookups before you burn out the vid-amp.

My dvd is stuck . the tray does not open anymore.

This is very simple to fix:

Unfold a paper clip so that one end forms a straight rod.

Open the door to the DVD bay if the face of the DVD drive is hidden.

Find a small pin-hole on the face of the drive, usually below the DVD tray, and to the left of the drive.

Insert the rod end of the paper clip into the hole repeatedly, until it catches, and the DVD tray will open toward you.

Door will not open

I had a similar problem, I went back in and opened it up, took the top plate that covers the lens, opened the tray, put the plate back on, then closed the tray and it works again. With the tray closed, I think I put the top plate on the bottom piece and it was stuck on.
