If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Sounds like the back light has failed or has a dodgy connection somewhere inside. Does it light up if you turn it off and on again or do you have to leave it on for a while?
Does it light up if you hit the tv while it's gone off?

Find a good service tech who does TV repairs if any of the above happen.

There is no way to make it unlock; without its remote control.

The digital processor board has the fault. Checking this baord, and repairing it is a very skilled work, and an experienced service technician only can do this.

Make sure that your external devices are PAL. If they are sending out the NTSC standard, the picture will be there without color as you are seeing.

also search google for SRC 3060, and you will probably find some links to the Sunwave remote. It looks like the same remote as on Palladine website, so I guess it is the same product.
