Drive away from your house and find a place to park. Take your garage door opener and hold it up by the openers on you van . Press the button that you want to operate you garage door and the original opener at the same time it should flash 2 or three times . Now you should be able to use the one that came with the car. (note: it will depend on the age of you garage door opener)

The ceiling of my 2001 pontiac bonneville sle has buttons by the sunroof that i can program for a garage door opener, how do i program it?

Your question is a couple months old, but I'll give it a shot anyway. I have a 2005 Bonneville. So I hope they are the same.
There are basically two different types of programming codes. Both methods of programming are in the Bonneville's owners manual. Assuming yoiu don't have your manual....
As I recall, for the newer "rolling code" openers...
Get your ladder out. There is a learning button on your opener, it could be on the back or maybe under a light cover.
Press and hold this learning button about 5 seconds(?), until the learning light is flashing(?).
Then press and hold one of the three buttons on your car for about 5-10 seconds(?), until it's light glows steady. It should be programmed.
For the older garage door openers, you can program it inside your car with one of your current remotes. Not sure exactly, but try holding the car button first, then the old remote.

2003 remote control for 2005 van?

Transmitter Programming
If you lose a transmitter, program the old and new transmitter(s) into the remote control door lock receiver's memory. Up to 4 transmitters may be programmed.

Important
Once the remote control door lock receiver enters the programming/diagnostic mode, the programming of the first transmitter erases all previous transmitter programming information, requiring the programming of all transmitters.

Program only 1 vehicle remote control door lock receiver at a time. If more than 1 receiver is being programmed at the same time, it is possible that the same transmitter could be programmed to more than 1 remote control door lock receiver.

Perform the following steps in order to program the transmitter:

Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse from the fuse panel. Refer to Fuse Block in Wiring Systems.
Close all of the doors.
Close the liftgate.
Turn the ignition lock cylinder to ACC.
Turn the ignition lock cylinder to OFF, and then back to ACC within 1 second.
Open and close any vehicle door. A chime will be heard when the system enters the BCM programming/diagnostic mode.

Important
After 7 seconds, a chime may be heard confirming successful synchronization. It is necessary to wait approximately 14 seconds for a second chime that will confirm successful programming.

Press and hold the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds.
Repeat the previous step on each additional transmitter to be programmed.
Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Install the BCM PRGRM fuse back into the fuse panel. Refer to Fuse Block in Wiring Systems. IF THIS WAS HELPFUL,PLEASE RATE,THANK YOU

Factory garage door opener

If this is the 3 button HomeLink Transmitter usually centered overhead above the rear-view mirror, this should work:

While the engine is turned off follow these steps to program up to three channels:
1. Decide which one of the 3 channels (one of the 3 HomeLink buttons) you want to program.
2. Press & hold the desired button through step 3.
3. When the HomeLink indicator light begins to blink slowly(this may take up to 30 seconds), hold your hand-held garage door remote about 1 to 3 inches away from the buttons & then press and hold the button on your garage door remote. Continue to hold both buttons until the indicator light on the HomeLink begins to flash rapidly(this may take up to 90 seconds).

If it still doesn't work, make sure the batteries in your garage remote are not weak, and try again moving the remote back & forth and left & right or turning it upside down while programming.

Also note HomeLink will not work with older garage door openers, especially not with ones manufactured before April 1st 1982.

For instructions on how to program remotes and keys check website below, I use these and they are usually very accurate. This website does state that on your vehicle, special equipment is needed to program a key fob, as there is no onboard programming for it. However, there are programming instructions for transponder keys.

Program garage door opener in 2005 rx 330

There are 3 programmable Homelink buttons you can use for different remotes. Just to the right of the buttons there is an indicator light.

Decide which button you want to program. Point the none battery end of your remote 1"-3" away from the Homelink panel and press both the remote and desired Homelink button down and hold them down at the same time. After about 20 seconds, the Homelink indicator light will change from a slow flashing to a rapid flashing. You can then release both buttons,
If the garage door responds to the Homelink, your done! If not, your garage door uses a rolling codes transmitter and must be trained.
Find the training button on your garage door opener's transmitter (usually mounted on the ceiling). Press the training button and within 30 seconds press and release the programmed Homelink button twice. If the garage door opener operates, you're done! If not, press and release the Homelink button a third time and the garage door should respond. If it still does not, you may have a very old garage door opener with a none digital transmitter (like I did). In that case, you either need to buy a new opener or try to replace the transmitter with a modern digital unit (as I did). Advantage: cheaper than a whole new garage door opener.
Disadvantage: The newer openers incorporate safety features that my old opener does not have.

Setting garage door opener

Most openers are programmed the same. You normally program the house garage opener to accept the new remote. Your garage opener will have a button to press to add in a new remote. Normally you press this and then press the remote in the car and hold until your lights on your opener flash or the garage door closes. (check your manual on your garage door opener)

Program my garage door opener on my pontiac montana 2005

you probably have a garage door opener that changes the code after each opening. I had to push a button on the door motor and then run to the car and push the opener button within 15 seconds. Your car salespwrson is usually an expert at this.
