Some Acer tablets have the following issue. You may need to contact Acer directly to resolve:
Issue:

AC adapter part numbers AP.0180P.002 and AP.0180P.003 built before week 33 may not charge the tablet. This occurs if the spring becomes deformed and no longer makes contact. Not all adapters built in this timeframe exhibit the issue. The issue may be caused if excessive force was applied to the adapter to deform the spring.
You may reference the week number (digits 12 and 13) on the adapter SN to verify if it was built before or after week 33.

SOLUTION:

If the adapter is not charging the tablet, replace the adapter like for like. The vendor designed an improved spring solution. This solution was phased in production week 33 for both AP.0180P.002 and AP.0180P.003. The part numbers have not changed.

My CURTIS KLU LT7035J tablet only works when I have it plugged in. It won't charge and I have been trying to charge it for days ? Nothing in the manual on what to do...should I return it or is

Please ensure you are using the correct power adapter that came with the tablet. If it is the wrong voltage/amps then the charging function will protect itself. If it uses a micro USB end then try charging via a computer USB port using a USB to Micro USB cable. This should work and will possibly eliminate the Tablet from the diagnosis. DON'T try to make your own power solution from a combination of cables/adapters because it's potentially dangerous to both you and your tablet.

Acer tablet a700 manual

SO sorry to hear this. I have seen to many tablets go BRICK after they are left to charge and then either they stay on the android boot/battery screen or they stick on the logo screen. There is a few things u can try to rescue you tablet.
First is this a acer tablet a700 or is it a acer iconia a 700?
I will assume its the tablet since if it was the iconia phone you would of been more upset for the 300 dollars plus. SO here we go and by no means can i tell u the exact reason these tablets fail or brick after charging.
This is a upper end tablet and not the cheap china clone. so hear is your first thing to try.
DO a hard reset with the keys first. WARNING reset can wipe out all ur data and set it back to factory if thats what u had it set to do. So if u have a sd micro card in its slot.. remove it and disconnect it from the computer dongle too. There are several diff options in recovery settings..back to factory or restore you settings from a backup file.. or wipe it and start all over.
so be aware that by doing a hard reset u can end up reinstalling everything u had on there.
Factory reset is first done with keys. HOLD THE POWER BUTTON AND THE SOUND UP but make sure you have the sleep / lock button right. at same time until it powers off..if not try power/sound up..this is the most common android tablet reset.
If this fails, then

The right side of the tablet is home to a microSD card slot (under a plastic flap) and a micro-HDMI port. The power/sleep/unlock key and 3.5mm headphone jack are located along the left edge, while a volume rocker and orientation lock switch are found on the top edge of the tablet, .
The micro-USB charging and syncing port, as well as a pair of speakers and a reset button, are located at the bottom of the A700
If u have made sure u have the sleep /lock switch in correct position. U have only one option left..the dreaded reset button. its on botton next to the usb sync charge port. Use a paper clip NO SHARP OR POINTS that break off.ie PENCIL lead .
DIsconnect from power and remove any micro/usb bridges..hold it in until it powers on and off..then cross your fingers and push the power button and wait.
If this fails to reset it back to factory and revive it. There are some software tools..SDK ANDROID isnt for the weak at heart though..lots of info and things that you will pull ur hair out trying.
If the reset above doesnt work..and u made sure its not in lock/sleep.. u are best off contacting the help line first and then last.
good luck my friend..
I will follow ur case..so post what happens and i will get it

Power button

The switch is available from wiisingonline but it is going to test even me to replace it. The switch is not supported physically which is a design fault from Acer. If you replace it it will needsome hot melt glue behind it to support it. Good luck If acerdo warranty it will only fail again when it is out of warranty

Acer tab A200

You may have to perform a reset if your tablet fails to respond when buttons are pressed or the screen is tapped. To reset your tablet use a small thin object (such as a paperclip) to press the recessed reset button.

Or do Clean Boot to restore the Acer Iconia Tab A501 factory default settings.
  • Open Settings from the application menu, then tap Privacy > Factory data reset.
  • Click Reset tablet and then Erase everything to format your tablet.

Will a usb charge the cruz?

As far as I know the 101 does not support USB charging just the DC in jack works for charging it. Most smaller tablets do not support USB charging. I have a Acer Iconia as my personal and i doesn't do that. I can't say it is missed. I only have a 5-6 hour battery but can plug in any time to charge without having to have a pc or laptop running.
