Dear sir; This error code means "scanner memory" problem, don't worry, we can reset it, the procedure as follow;
1, make sure you are in copy mode , then press "p", "*", "clear", "*".
2, enter 16 press start.
3, press "CA" to end simulation.
L1 or L1-00 indicates Scanner movement failure. The scanner is the part under the glass that lights up and moves back and forth. So if you lift up the feeder so you can see the glass, turn the machine off for a few seconds then back on. Watch the movement of the scanner. It should move right and inch or two then back to the left. If all goes well the copier should come to ready. Lay a piece of paper on the glass and press the print button to watch the scanner movement. If it binds up or does not scan correctly there are 2 possibilities. 1) your scanner lock is engaged and is preventing the scanner from moving. Check the clear plastic dial located under the far left upper side of the copier, near where the paper exits the machine. Make sure it is in the unlocked position. 2) Your scanner rail is dirty and dry. This rail can be seen under the glass towards the back of the copier. The scanner rides on this rail. It is very common for these to get dirty and for the grease to dry up causing the scanner to freeze up on the rail. The glass must be removed and the rail cleaned and lubricated. Just power off then on the copier to reset. This works in the following models: Sharp AL1000, Sharp AL1010, Sharp AL1020, Sharp AL1041, Sharp AL1200, Sharp AL1215, Sharp AL1220, Sharp AL1250, Sharp AL1251, Sharp AL1340, Sharp AL1451, Sharp AL1520, Sharp AL1521, Sharp AL1530CS, Sharp AL1540CS, Sharp AL1551, Sharp AL1551CS, Sharp AL1631, Sharp AL1641CS, Sharp AL1651, Sharp AL1651CS, Sharp AL1655CS, Sharp AL1661, Sharp AL1661CS

hi thmas please tell me how to clear sharp mx-m620n copiermemory chip to use it ... How do I clear error code h3-00 on mysharp mx--453.
The H4 code indicates the fuser may have blown the thermistor. It also could be a false error code. Try this series to clear the error and if it returns, then you'll know for sure the fuser is the culprit.
To reset press the following buttons:
Turn the copier off and remove the scanner glass. Sometimes the ribbon cable underneath the scanner gets bound up on the scanner. Flatten it out and secure it with scotch tape. make sure that the loop has enough slack on it for the scanner to travel freely.
This resets the code
