I installed an ipod to my kenwood dpx 4020 with an ipod link cable, how do i stop the charging system to avoid over charging the ipod battery without disconnecting the cable?
The iPod will stop itself from charging when the battery is full, and will not overcharge. I'm pretty sure you can't disconnect the power to the iPod (would stop it from charging) and still use the Audio to your stereo.

you probably have a bad switch. you need to use a multimeter and check the resistance of your volume up switch, if less than a few meg., the switch is bad.
That happened to me and the PFD Manual online said it means it's a communication error between the ipod adapter and the ipod. The ipod in my case was totally froze and I had to reset it using the hold on off then holding in menu and select for 10 seconds and it rebooted.
