I turn on my computer and i don't see anything

Guess what? I don't see it either.

Oh,....that's because you're there, and I'm here, and.............never mind.

(OH, I'm jus jokin'!)

Would be helpful to know the laptop manufacturer name, and model number, though. The name you know, the model number is on the bottom of the laptop.

Diagnose to see what the problem is;

A) Graphics chipset,
Or
B) Video Cable,
Or
C) In the Display Assembly

1) Suggest start with attaching a VGA monitor to the laptop.

Laptop OFF, monitor OFF, attach the VGA cable of a VGA monitor, to the VGA connector on the laptop.

Example of a VGA Cable, and VGA connector,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

You can use a CRT type of monitor, (Looks like a small TV), or a flat LCD screen monitor if it has a VGA cable.

2) Turn the monitor on. If a CRT type allow it to warm up.
Turn the laptop on. By factory default the display should show on the external VGA monitor.

IF not;
There are at least 3 display options available,

A) Internal monitor of laptop ONLY
B) Internal monitor of laptop AND external VGA monitor
C) External VGA monitor ONLY

Hold the Fn key down, and tap once on the Display Toggle-Over key.
Which key is the Display Toggle-Over key?
Don't know. You didn't state the laptop manufacturer name, and model number.

It is one of the F keys at the top. F1 through F12.
Usually has a monitor symbol on it, and a side arrow.
(Most of the time the F4, F5, F7, or F8 key)

No display on the external VGA monitor?
Hold the Fn key down again, and tap once more on the Display Toggle-Over key.

Still no? Bad graphics chipset.

Display shows on external VGA monitor? Problem is the Video Cable, or in the Display Assembly.
Post back in a Comment after you have performed this procedure, and also post the manufacturer name, and model number.

If the graphics chipset is good, we'll go on with the diagnoses if you wish.

Toshiba m60-104 screen dark new screen new iverter

Have you tried an external monitor?

Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If the display shows on the external monitor that proves your video card is ok and your lcd screen is the issue. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

If is shows on the external monitor, then you would have to question if the new screen and lcd inverter is bad. Just because they are new don't mean they work. Are you sure you purchased the lcd screen and inverter that is for your model?

Are you saying the computer will not turn on at all or are you saying the monitor will not turn on?

If it sounds like your computer is on and running but you don't see anything, then your monitor is bad based on the stripes you say it used to show.

Plug in an external monitor and see if thedisplay shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crtmonitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vgaport. Left side on my laptop monitor is black, is it the monitor or the grapic card that is bad

If you have an external monitor, plug it into your laptop. If, on the external monitor, there is also graphical errors, it's your GPU, if not, then it's your display.

If you don't have one, it's a little more tricky. Generally, if it's a display issue, it will affect absolutely everything, all the time, the same way. If it's a GPU issue, you're going to see fluctuations, flickering, and just general weirdness.

The only way to tell for certain is to swap parts. Since a monitors is far easier to plug in than another GPU, that's your best bet to be sure.

How can I desactive of MAC address on my wireless router?

Reset your wireless router to factory settings.

On the back or bottom of your router, you will find a small hole perfect for a paperclip to be inserted.

While it is plugged into power, press an unbent end of a paperclip into the hole firmly for 30 seconds then release it.

Your router should now be at the factory settings.

You will need to set up the router very quickly to change the factory Admin password so that nobody else can get into it.

Get your setup instructions online by going to the router's manufacturer page to find the manual for your specific router.

My Settings/Advanced/Displays, don't show, there is no setting to use any ex. screens I have 2-Inspiron 8500s my other one shows the setting display but one don't can you tell me what to do to get...

LAPTOP OR NOTEBOOK COMPUTERS HAVE A KEY ON THE KEYBOARD IN THE LOWER LEFT SIDE THAT HAS A "Fn" MARKED ON IT, SHOULD BE BY THE CTRL KEY. PRESS THIS KEY ALONG WITH AN "F"KEY, NORMALY F5, ( HAS 2-BOXES WITH A DIVIDER LINE), WILL CAUSE YOUR SCREEN TO GO BLANK AS IT IS NOW SENDING THE VIDEO TO AN EXTERNAL MONITOR. PRESSING THE 2-KEYS AGAIN WILL APPLYTHE VIDEO TO BOTH MONITORS, THEN PRESSING BOTH AGAIN WILL RETURN IT TO YOUR LATOP ONLY.

We have model 6053 braun blood pressure monitor. When we turn it on the screen shows err and that's all it has new batterys. Can it be reset? We don't have a manual. Thanks joe

I checked, and, unfortunately, they don't have instructions for your model.
Kaz has taken over Braun's BP monitor business, and one of the models' instructions says to have it seen by a servicer if it keeps displaying an error message. You can find one by calling:
Customer Service Information - North America 1-800-327-7226
You can also send email inquiries to [email protected].

Good luck, and I hope this helps!

I have a 17" Gem

Hello,
You shouldn't need to install software for a monitor to work. What you may have to do though, is configure your display settings to allow an external display. Your laptop might have a function key to do this. Try clicking the function key + the key that looks like a monitor display on your laptops keyboard. This should activate the external display port. You might also try going into the control panel, select display and enable the secondary display. Also a 17 inch display probably has a screen resolution of 1024x768 or 1280x1024 so make sure you don't set the resolution any higher then that or the display might not show anything.
