Question about Bissell Powersteamer 1694 Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

No water I have a Bissell 1694 and it is not ejecting the water cleaner solution out of the front of the machine. The belts are ok. The two nozzels and hoses are not clogged and do not have any holes. I think the pump still works because water still comes out of the brush tool.

Re: No water

It is easy to take the top off. Mine has just 6 screws. Then you can see all the tubing and parts. For example, you can unclip the nozzles and see if water flows. Try blowing through the nozzle to see if it is plugged. Some people say the heating unit in the handle plugs up, particularly if you put soap in the water tank. I haven't dealt with this, but it should be easy to open the handle and bypass the heating unit.

Is there any reason the water won't come out?

You need to replace the pump belt, that is why the water is not dispensing and you need to replace the brush belt, that is why the brush isn't spinning. Here are the belts you need.

My Bissell carpet cleaner model #1697-W will not dispense the cleaning solution and will not **** the water back up--also need to know how you get to the belt on the machine?

The drive belt for the pump is located under a cover on the front right side as you look for the front of the machine. Just lift it up and the belt will be obvious. If it is not sucking then make sure that the dirty water tank is empty and that all the filters are clean and the front of the machine is not clogged with fibres, dirt or hair. Also check pre and post motor filters and clean them if required. Then check the mix control is working OK to allow fluid to flow out of the machine and not switched off. Bissell's are simple machines.

How to change the belt on a bissell powerbrush deep carpet cleaner.model 1694

Turn the machine OFF (O) and unplug from
the outlet. To check if the brush belt or
pump belt has broken, you will need a flat
head screwdriver. Insert the blade end into
the lower slot of the belt access door to
release the lower snap. If necessary, insert
the blade end into the upper slot to release
the upper snap.

Hope this helps.

Bissell steam shampooer

There is a lint screen, but not really another filter per say. But you may have a stretched pump belt. Here is a link to your manual at the manufacture's web site. This link is only to YOUR manual so I am not suggesting any particular place to purchase from.
When you look in this manual, on page 11 you will see the common wear parts on your machine... it's a good idea to have extra belts around incase you are having now.
I hope this helps.

Is this free? i have a bissell carpet cleaner and i cannot get the soap and water to come out. it will **** up the dirty water however. i just found the belt is broken but i can see no way of how to...

If it is the flat belt that broke, that is the pump belt, the pump can't work without it. To replace the belts, turn the unit over, remove the red holder, has one screw, pull it out, then the brush roll will come loose. You can replace the belts thru that opening.
