..."failed to start because smv.dll was not found"

When i try to start iriver plus 3, i keep getting this warning message:

"this application has failed to start because smv.dll was not found. re-installing the application may fix this problem"

i have uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times, but its not helping.

what is wrong exactly, and how do i fix it?

    I have the same problem! Iwent to the iriver homepage and downloaded the istallation files but all to no avail.

    I am the same too. I emailed iriver to see if they had an answer but they haven't got back to me yet.

    i have the same problem and it's giving me the s%&@s. no matter how many times i reinstall it doesn't work and now I can't load any new songs onto the player :-(

    This seems to be a fairly recently problem people are having.. maybe it's to do with a recent automatic windows update or something?!

    I also have the same problem. Does anyone know if you can delete Plus3 and go back to Plus 2 that came with the E10?

    yep i have the same problem - just started since the last time i ran the s/w (approx. 4 weeks ago). I am runnning on XP.

    I also keep getting this:

I had the same problem. When uninstalling, check "yes" when it asks you if it should delete the library database file (it will say to check "no" if you plan to reinstall; ignore that). If that doesn't work, try downloading iriver plus 3 from the the international version of the iriver website: http://www.iriver.com/index.asp

Please uninstall your iriverplus 3 from your computer and download and install the latest version from www.iriver.com

    ok - here's the drum ... click on plus3 and make sure you are downloading v3.5.5.2 which fixes the problem.

Search your registry for "odd.dll" and remove the entry.
Google: "windows registry" and become familiar with it before you make any changes.
Be careful, you cannot undo a change to the registry.

Iiriver 3 failed to start SMV.dll was not found

Search google for smv.dll. A lot of people have this problem and apparently the manufacturer says you need to remove the current version completely and then download the latest version which fixes the problem from the manufacturer's website.

The file bcmwltry.exe is the tray bar process for the Broadcom Corporation Wireless Network software.

You can try eliminating the program from start up.
Click on Start >>Run, type "msconfig" (without the quotes), then click on OK.

When the System Configuration Utility loads, click on the "Start Up" tab, then scroll down to the "bcmwlt.exe" entry and UNCHECK the box next to it.

Click on Apply, then OK, and the computer will need to be restarted. Do it. Upon restart, you'll see a System Configuration Utility warning. Simply choose the option to stop it from repeatedly opening.

This will be fixing your problem
