Question about Sony (DWQ30AB2) DVD RW Dual Layer Burner

1 Answer

ITunes and Quick Time will not load and work together

This is not a problem with the burner. That was solved, but th only way I can get this system to answer me is to use the same link. Otherwise, it puts me in a loop that goes nowhere. iTunes stopped working saying it needed Quick Time and could not find it. I reloaded both seveal times. The sysem either says "iTunes.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created." Or it says "Quicktime failed to initialize Error # -2093" I apparently cannot get both to work at the same time. It was recommended that I reload an earlier version of the system, but that didn't work.

Update your anti-virus program, it's quite apparent that your system has been infected with a trojan.

Problem is with iTunes

hi try this: The intention is to remove all iTunes and Quicktime software references. The following steps remove the software traces and worked on my machine. 1. Using add/remove programs uninstall Quicktime (click on Start ?> Settings ?> Control Panel ?> Add/Remove Programs) 2. Using add/remove programs uninstall iTunes 3. Right click on My Computer, use Search and remove all programs named Quicktime 4. Right click on My Computer, use Search and remove all programs named iTunes (except your iTunes download, so you won?t have to sit through another long download session). 5. Left click on Start, click Run, type ?regedit?, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, click on SOFTWARE, and remove the Apple Programs folder (you may want to check in case you have other Apple applications, but all I had were iTunes and Quicktime in my Apple folder). Steps 1 through 5 should remove all traces of the software and now you can install iTunes. make sure you install all the latest updates from apple hope this will work for you :)

I have just purchaced alg gh22lp20 dvd drive but

the computer should recognize it as a dvd-device though, if not windows is giving u trouble,
so try using any other
freeware burn program like nero or burnatonce to burn,
u necessarily need the original software.
to get anew copy of software email the manufacturer, then post send the cd in exchange for a newer one or look on th homepage if they have something fittng your drive- model and operation system ready to download...

good luck

ok " click on start , go to programs, go to system tools, click on
system restore , restore to a date before you installed Itunes.

if that doesn't work try click on start , click on settings, click on
control panel , click on system, in menue click on hardware,
click on device manager, click on dvd/cd-rom drives, your drive
should be there , click on drive with right button.and a menu will come up ,delete it .

now shut down windows , and restart your computer
windows will now will see your new drive, and you can reinstall it.

The software provided with my DVD writer doesnt work on mac, and occasionally when i insert a cd it won't register on itunes. I cant use it to write anything because my mac wont recognise it as a drive...

Did you try updating the hardware FIRMWARE? In some cases the firmware of some hardwares are out of date respect to the operative system they're working (or trying to work) on. In case you ignore it Firmware is the "software inside the Hardware". A serie of commands and parameters that give logic to the device, and therefore, tells the hardware how to respond. I hope this can solve your problem. Read your device's user guide to update your firmware or contact your provider. and don't forget to tell us if you solve the problem... ahh... and rate =)
