Kodah EasyShare V1003 Digital Camera cannot turn off

You have the review feature active and the flashing colors are most likely showing you the highlights and shadows that are too bright or too dark for a good photo. Look for the features in the menu to turn them off or try a factory default reset from the camera menu.

almost all easyshare (and Kodak cameras) eat batteries..... in my opinion, they're not worth the materials they're made from.

Its the problem of the camera. Get the battery socket in the camera checked.

Going to have to replace the camera. You can also try to turn it in to Kodak for repair but your easier route is to replace the camera.

The instructions work for both the V803 & V1003. They are basically the same camera, using the same LCD screen, the V1003 has a higher Megabyte resolution.

remove the battery and press the power button for few seconds and replace the batteries and try switching on!!!!

unfortunately it would appear to be a CCD or main board failure.
If the camera is out of warranty (as this should be covered) my best suggestion is to pick up one off ebay with a broken screen and put your screen in it, broken screens are common on these cameras so they go quite cheaply, far cheaper than kodak would charge for repair and the swap is easy.
There are several searchs to try "parts v1003" "spares v1003" "Faulty v1003" "repair v1003"
