Hi!
Help is at Hand (Excuse pun),
This problem described strongly relates to a seizing clutch cable or frayed.
If you remove it try and pull/push the inner with your fingers there should be No resistance, you may get away with a good oiling but I would recommend replacement.
Good Luck!

SOURCE: Clutch slipping while cold, when warm/hot, it operates great.

I have a 2000 Vulcan Nomad FI & had a very similar problem. In fact, it's a very common problem with these bikes. I fixed it by replacing the Clutch Spring. (As Described here: http://www.gadgetjq.com/clutch_spring_replacement.htm

It cost me $40 and 3 hours of time with an impact wrench.

SOURCE: when i pull the clutch on my dirt bike it doesn't

First, get a new clutch cable. Tape the new cable to the old one and unhook the old one. Now you have a new cable and a reserve cable ready for use if needed during a race.

Second, change gearbox oil and install a new oil filter if your bike has one. All the dirt and grit in the oil is binding the clutch. Ride the bike for a couple of hours using the clutch often. Now drain the oil again and put in fresh oil. This will flush out the dirt and grit. Use 10w40 motor oil. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell.

SOURCE: my dirtbike clutch doesnt work right

Make sure that the cable is still working and hasn't broken from freezing up since it was parked. Had the clutch been causing any problems in the past? This clutch is not adjustable at the base where it mounts to the engine. Adjust the cable if needed from the handle. If this doesn't help, then it sounds like an internal problem. This would require taking off the right side of the motor. Just get a new gasket, and a clutch kit. The basket might be able to be saved with emory cloth. You can get a clutch kit at bikebandit.com

Bike jumps when on release of clutch in first gear and stalls

The clutch plates are probably rusted. I ride the bike with the clutch lever pulled in until very warmed up and keep blipping the throttle at low speeds in first gear this sometimes releases the stuck clutch.

1982 Honda cb450sc Nighthawk. Just bought. First bike. Was riding it this morning everything was fine then after around an hour I felt that when I pulled in the clutch to stop and then wanted to take off...

It appears the you have a clutch pressure plate problem in that it is slipping and overheating to fade condition. Check for oil level as most bike clutches run in oil. Check clutch cable adjustment. Check cable for kinks and split wires.

2008 Ducati S4RS dry clutch either sticks or doesn't disengage when I pull the clutch in riding, and sometimes I can't get the bike out of gear unless I stalling the motor while in gear.

Check to ensure the hydraulic mechanism is working properly and hasn't leaked. If it has leaked or there is air in the system, it wont allow the clutch to disengage properly and would be akin to a clutch cable being out of adjustment or broken. If the yydraulic release is working as it should be, you may have oil fouled clutch plates. Oil fouled plates would cause the bike to jump/lurch from a stop and could also stick together.

I have problem with my clutch in my 2004 Susuki Intruder. I put it away last year it was working fine I went to take it out and the clutch does not work it will go into grear but the clutch wont disengage

G'day. I can definatly help you with this. This is a problem I have come across many many times in my career as a motorcycle mechanic. It is a very common problem for bikes that have been sitting around for a while. What has happened is that all the clutch plates are stuck together. There are two ways to rectify this problem. One is to remove the clutch cover, remove the clutch springs, then the plates-noting the order- clean, re-lubricate & re-assemble.
The other way- which I have sucessfully used in 98% of cases is to start the bike in neutral, chock the front wheel- I position the bike with the front wheel against a brick wall or good size tree for a dirt bike, hold on the front brake tightly, rev the engine & hold at about 2000 rpm, click it into 2nd gear.CAUTION- The bike may jump forward &/or stall(get some friends/helpers on each side as "catchers" if your not too confident) Try this a couple of times if necessary & it usually works. Also you could try riding the bike with some front brake applied whilst pulling the clutch lever in & out several times.(This seperates the pressure plates whilst the clutch basket is spinning & can let the oil acess the fibre & steel plates whilst there not under pressure).
I hope this helps you.
Kind regards Andrew Porrelli
