Has 484 international tractor got a diesel pump

Hi, now that you have filled your fuel tank with diesel again, I hope! why you can't start your tractor is that the fuel line has a lot of air in the system, and that has to be removed by bleeding the system. My tractor had a hand primer on the front of the diesel pump, or if the battery is good and efficient undo the leads to the pump and pump the air out of the lines, or use your tractor engine to turn over , thus quickly pumping out that air. Once you can see only diesel flows and not air, recouple all those disconnected lines to your pump, and then you should see your tractor engine burst in life again. While you are doing all this checking also check when you last changed the fuel filters, they give you heaps of trouble if they are full of gunk. Best of luck.

Diesel injection pumps need to be timed to the engine. You have to set the engine to top centre on number one cylinder and compression stroke, then set the injection pump to number one, should be a line to line up or a pin to install to set pump to number one. Then install the pump and bolt it on

Gas has spark plugs
Diesel has injectors.

Crack open the line coming into the injection pump from the fuel pump (near the top of inj. pump, towards firewall). Pump the lever on fuel pump until fuel comes out of loosened line. Tighten line. Loosen at least two injector lines at injection pump head. Crank engine with starter until fuel pulses from loosened lines. Tighten lines. Crank engine again. Engine should begin firing on these cylinders first, followed by the remaining cylinders.

Check your fuel filter & make sure it's full of fuel,
usually the problem if the motor wont start after
running it out of fuel.

can be a lot of different problems-check fluid level if low fill to proper level --leak in hydro line-check all lines for leak--air in system -bleed system -wrong hydro fluid in system-check for correct fluid---seal at pump leaking-check around pump--controls leaking not holding allowing back pressure--test controls for internal leaks repair or replace if necessary--hydro pump internal malfunction/valves/piston/gears-pressure test repair or replace if necessary

I have a old 2010 Diesel did the same. It was the fuel return line from the pump to the fuel tank. It's a short ? 10" long line.
Replaced it, now it runs for ever.
