Question about Gestetner C7435n Laser Printer
Hello, Hope someone can help asap. I have been running, operating, and fixing when needed a Gestetner C7435 for about 2-3 years. Fairly good at figuring things out. Problem: Error remove misfeed at fuser unit.. I have had this error before and fixed the problem. This time however, I have taken out all parts, examined, used a flashlight, removed and checked the fuser unit at least 4 times, rolled the blue dial etc.. The error message is still showing up. My concern is I'm wondering if the memory on the computer is "messed up". In otherwords, there is no paper jam actually. The last thing I printed were whole sheets, no little bit of paper missing etc... Is there a way to reset the Gest. ?? I print off the newsletter for the non-profit organization I'm pres. of Central Florida Palm and Cycad Society. Needs to be printed so I'm losing time this weekend because techs at where we purchased the machine are not in. Thanks for any suggestions. Diana
It sounds as if the actuator is out of position or bad. In the fuser exit there should be a thin little black (usually) actuator that hangs down and the paper pushes/ lifts it off of the switch/ sensor as the paper passes. If this is pulled out of its holder or broken it will act like there is still paper jammed. The actuator looks like a little ' j ' and is pressed into its holder. If this is seated properly then the switch is probably bad and needs replaced. About resetting --- a paper jam is considered an 'A' code and does not need the machine to be ' service reset '.
Please let us know what you find out.
