Unable to make or receive phonecalls

I dial a number or receive a call and it rings once and then says connected without me touching anything. you can't hear anything although it says connected and all you can do is terminate the call. aaaaarrgh! This XDA Orbit is seriously stressing me out. I've checked every conceivable setting for call ringer volume, call ring type, call ring tone, auto-answer off etc etc.

thanks yeah I got to the bottom of it and there's some handsfree setting that was invoked without me realising, and without me having any handsfree kit plugged into the Xda!
I found there was a setting to disengage it but you can only see the setting when a call is underway and the issue is happening. totally bizarre but all sorted now thanks.
